30th March online. I paid £3000 directly from my Barclays current account online, it went in on the 8th Apr.

I stopped by my local branch to enquire about this years top up. It seemed really straight forward, they took my basic details, filled in a single form and faxed it off. They couldn't tell me when the £3600 would be transferred exactly but they stated regardless of how long, interest would be back dated, like before.

All in all, my first cash ISA experience has been very pleasant, so far, especially considering I left it till the last moment but that was simply due too extensive research D:

Funny thing is, my banking experience with Barclays has been absolutely horrendous. Don't ask, lol.

    Cheers for the info.

I used Barclays last year hassle free. In fact they took so long to cash the cheque that my 3K was earning interest in two accounts for 6 weeks (Barclays backdated to application date)!!

It's been just as simple this year and the rush at the end / start of the financial year usually means you can get a few extra pennies in savings while they get through the application backlog. :)

Snap Re: earning interest in 2 accounts on 3000.00 for 6 weeks last year.

Downside for this years Barclays ISA intake is that its rates are likely to reduce by 0.25% on or around May 1st, making the applied variable yearly rate 6.06%,( higher A.E.R for those who have the monthly interest added to the account)

Has anyone tried making a payment into the ISA via the barclays online "pay someone" option. As you have the sort code, and the account number so surely you should be able to just "pay" the ISA from your normal account. As thats all they are doing when you speak to them over the phone or in the bank.

Haha, nice. That didn't occur to me, not that I'd be earning much more in my current account.

I was considering this option myself but as there was no clear indication of whether it was possible I left it alone. Only comment on that is when I did it in branch, I did ask, can it not be done online, to which they said "not possible". Whether this is because other checks are required or simply, she didn't actually know.

Does say in T&C you can either, phone to transfer, go into branch or send a cheque to address, so I would assume you aren't allowed to do so online, just yet anyway, they maybe testing the system now hence why you could try? But don't wanna gamble? Don't bother!

Has anyone tried this - sounds very interesting? Also, has anyone had a go at doing a transfer into their ISA using one of the self service kiosks in branch? I haven't plucked up the courage to use one yet but would love to know if this is possible?

I opened a tax haven ISA a couple of weeks ago, and got home to find that she'd put the wrong DOB on the application form (it was one day off what it should be).

I went back into the branch, to be told that as long as it's accurate on the actual system (it was accurate, as I'd been a customer there before), what's on the application form doesn't matter. I took it as read.

I then got my letter confirming my application which had the same wrong DOB on it. I called the phone number to tell them, and they said that it was right on the system, so it 'must have been a fluke' that someone sent out the letter with the same incorrect DOB'. !

So I've written to them, too, telling them that whilst I don't dispute the advice I've been given, there is clearly paperwork somewhere that has the wrong DOB. Knowing my luck, even if it is correct on the system, someone somewhere will note that the NI number and DOB do not match.

Let's hope it all gets sorted...!

' <-- See that? It's called an apostrophe. It does not mean "hey, look out, here comes an S".

As an existing customer I applied over the phone at the end of march. Not heard a dicky bird since.

My wife (not a barclays customer), did it the old fashioned way in the branch. She's had a confirmation letter this morning with a sort code and account number.

    Maybe I should chase them...
