:j Good morning from a rather damp little plot in Frugal Land :D

Hello to newbie sukielou. Don't worry, your appointment to see the "Help me survive belonging to this Challenge" Counsellor will be arriving soon. We are merely awaiting a "Post your letters Free" day from the Royal Mail :rotfl:

Oh dear. I feel so smug for having had such great success on Gala Bingo on my first attempt.
If you remember, I was a trifle squiffy at the time so might I suggest a large glass of (home-made) wine before playing

DdraigGoch please post your super saving shopping list so we can drool at your savings :D

slowlyfading and Aril  nice to see you again

Jumble-bee your new hutch is almost ready :j A nice sheepskin on the couch and I just have to get a mini-fridge. Had to install a 20" TV as the 32" wouldn't go through the door :rotfl:

Deep joy...I have discovered an endless supply of (free) newspapers for lighting the fire. I have been raiding the little re-cycling buckets that the Council supply to householders in the area where I work :o We are too remote to have a collection of our own and we don't buy newspapers. But all my old ladies on my rounds get daily papers so there you are :rotfl:
And another bonus of the new job. I have a gap in my workload at about 8am which is when the Co-op opens. So I can get in first and bag all the reduced stuff :T
Got 2 packets of meatballs for £1 each yesterday and 4 Granary loaves for 72p each which DH would live on. With the cheap butter I got last week for 50p (8 packets) we are sorted for breakfasts for a while.

Off to work I go :j

wahhhh i came on here early to check if i had won the last few games of free bingo that i left playing while i went to bed, and my balance is still a big fat 0.00 :(

well done sukielou! i think your the only winner this week

i am hoping it will be slightly less painful next week as i will actually have a clue what im doing! but dont worry janey, i have learnt the hard way thay a drink or two would be a very good idea ;)

i wonder how much it would cost to get a monkey and train it to sit playing bingo all day? NOTE that it is very bad for the health of pet jumblebees to be made to do this, they would be taken away by the rspca :D

    Good morning fellow frugalites:D

Couldn't face the free bingo yesterday but congratulations to our winner:D
    Frugal plans for today:
My first batch of kefir is ready:j going to have some in a minute, then set off the next batch.
Need to make a loaf in breadmaker later, then later i am feeding my oldies so will be eating for free tonight, :D
The budget has taken a knock as OH has ordered a small chest freezer for me so £99.99 to add to spends for today and £10 token electricity to add to sealed pot, oh and £4.95 delivery charge too so a depressing £114.94 to add to totals today:o :o
i did check freecycle for freezer but no luck.

Have a frugaltastic day everyone, catch up with you all later:D

Morning all, well done to our Bingo winner, I didn't get a single penny but found that much less monotonous with a few of you there for company :)

Warning about Jumble_Bees: When bored, these delightful creatures can become fairly mischievous, so please ensure there's plenty to amuse them within their living accommodation. Am saying no more. :rotfl:

Catch up with you all soon, off to collect DGD from nursery then [strike]we're going to make cookies[/strike] we played with cheese straws and coloured in pictures :)

    ===================

Back again, very quiet in here today, is everyone alright or is FMS (Frugal Moon Syndrome) kicking in again? Anyways, DGD and I popped out to check the booking for DD's party and it will, indeed, be a mega-celebration night, complete with frugal food spread. :T I've never prepared a buffet for that many and haven't a clue how many will be attending, but I can think of at least 50, so far!

So - my entire signature has been revamped, once again, and the house challenge removed to make room for the extended grocery challenge. I wonder if that'll stay within my 4k budget? :rotfl:

    Hi,

Good news from here. I did manage to find Nyk and Jumblebee eventually after recovering from my [STRIKE]blond[/STRIKE] senior moment. Didn't win anything thou but the company was great.

Also good news as emailed yesterday the UK rep of the joghurt maker and they immediately today replied and said they will send me a replacement part free of charge. :T THANK YOU EASIYO!! I am ever so happy they have been great.

Unexpected trip for tomorrow to Dorset. Nothing against Dorset but didn't really want to spend that petrol and also this means having to eat out.

I got a tip about this herb that helps getting rid of addictions (like chocolate) and it was highly recommended by someone who had used it. It is called brahmi and I immediately went and bought some tea made of it. It should also have other benefitial attributes like improving memory and helping concentrate. I shall now enjoy a cuppa in the evenings after I get DD to bed so let's see if there is any improvement in near future.

Ok, need to rush to get to the post office so catch up with you later.

    Marru

Hello all, even though officially I am not starting til 01/05, it's never to early to start to make some changes, whilst walking around Lidl's today looking for some bargains I spotted a grow your own grapes vine, aha! I thought for the price of one bottle of wine I can grow my own vinyard and make zillions...ingenious!! I was very pleased with myself until I phoned my DM to tell her my great plan, she promptly fell about laughing, Hmm!!! maybe not such a good idea after all, it doesn't even have instructions on how to plant it, any ideas anyone? I'm not giving up that easily.

Marru, have a nice time in Dorset. Perhaps it'll be a beautiful day and you'll enjoy the trip. Must Google your herb. I need all the help I can get with regards to memory :)

Sukie, I had a young grapevine in the conservatory of a house I rented a few years back and it looked fabulous. It even grew small grapes. But they do take a very, very long time to grow. In saying that, once they are established, like the ones our neighbours had in their geenhouse, you get loads and loads of grapes off them. Hmm... it's running in my mind that theirs was many, many, many years old. I fear that you may spend quite a bit on wine whilst waiting for your vine. :)

  • Hya everyone....

It does seem to have gone quiet in here so

......while nobody's listening I bought ....2 pairs of.linen trousers (reduced from 30 to 15 quid, 2 blouses ....2 for 20 quid in Dotty P's)....for work outfits though am goin to cheat a wee bit and am not going to count them into the 4k cos they're for work only.

    ahem.......did someone say something there??????

am still reading all the posts. its just that sometimes am quite content to watch from the sidelines and at other times I feel the need to post.

I kinda liken it to our tea room at work, sometimes Im really chatty and at other times I just absorb the chat

Anyways just wanted to say hya......and confess......XX
