Hi Sukielou, welcome to the 4k challenge.
The easiest way to work out your target figure is if you already know exactly how much you have spent so far of your annual allowance. If you have read the thread, then you'll be able to estimate your annual target. If you decide to go with the £4,000, then 1st May will mean you have two thirds left, equivalent to £2666.66 I'm not sure how your challenge will work, as our calculations are spread over a full 12 months, but good luck with your practice run in 2008, we'll probably all be here for 2009 as well
I'll update post one of this thread as soon as you let me know your target figure.
1st May = day 122/366 or exactly one third of the way through the challenge
£4000/3 = £2666.66I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

I can see you, can't you see me? But I haven't received any of your messages. If I could yell loud enough for you to hear me then I would, but I can't, so I won't. Go out and have a quick look about then back in, see if you can pick up any more free ticketsI reserve the right not to spend.

Need to update budget as spent £4.10 yesterday on frugal meal out and lime and soda with my friend:D
Had a free lunch today as i was on a manager's training day;) and tea tonight is yesterday's left over quorn and lentil casserole. So cheap day all round.
Marru - sorry to hear about DD's yoghurt maker escapades:eek: hope you can get the piece you need.
good luck to all the free bingo players:p I haven't got the patience for that tonight.
OH and I have just been discussing savings/frugalising etc and have worked out that if we continue as we are doing now in just over three years we will be able to finance a five year stint living in malta without having to work.:DOH also has a regular income which we can use too.
We both love it there and were doing all the what if's etc , then recently we have had two friends die quite young without realising their dreams so have decided to try and go for it. If we only have five years that will be enough. We don't own property and DD will be at uni by then so nothing to stop us, if it doesn't work out we will just come home and start again - but it will be an adventure:D0 -
Many thanks to all who have welcomed me, I’m very happy to be here!
Thankyou Nyk for adding me to the list. DdriagGoch, many thanks for the recommendation of the cookbook, I always seem to be cooking 2 separate meals as I am a vegetarian and my OH is most certainly not, so it might help me to get some idea’s on how to combine a vege and a meat meal together. Also in regards to him doing the challenge with me, he is already very good (annoyingly so!) at being able to manage his finances and work out the best deals of saving money, it’s me that has the difficulties, I just don’t know where it goes every month, it’s like water!
I am loving the free Gala bingo, I haven’t won anything yet infact I lost £1.20 as I clicked on the wrong game, but still it is great fun…I hope I don’t get addicted!, can anyone tell me though when will they add my free £10.00, I went through the links on pigsback but it still has not been credited.Live on 4thou a year £2685 from 01May08Total left to spend: £1086.35I have enough money to last me the rest of my life. Unless I buy something! :heartpuls0 -
