I'm not counting anything until I have it in my hand or in my bank. Mumzy, you'll have earned way more than that if you were smoking 20 cigs per day because, as the old saying goes, a penny saved is a penny earned
I don't know how I'm going to get the money yet, so I'm off to bed with a glass of hot blackcurrant juice to mull it over for a bit.I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

Hello everyone, after mulling it over, doing sums and getting a headache, I'd like to throw my hat into the ring and say 'sign me up, buttercup' (or NYK)
I have a feeling that just my monthly bills (excluding mortgage, council tax and water bills) over 9 months come to nearly £3k so think I need to take a long, hard look at my finances and work out what the heck I can cut down on.
I know there's the SOA sticky but have also seen on here, but forgot to bookmark, another site that you put in your figures and press a button and it makes it MSE-friendly. Can anyone point me in the right direction please as I have no idea how to find it without re-reading days worth of posts on all the boards I seem to be addicted to on here.....

Welcome on board!!!
Morning all, it is way to early for me this! Early night tonight me thinks. My DD has come out of my bank for TV Licience. £35 something so will update laterOff to Mr M today with a friend who shops everyweek and spends MAX £28 a week on her, her OH and 6month old including formula milk and nappies and wipes, I want to see how she does it
:rotfl: :rotfl:
Im on the internet so early it helps me not have my morning cig as im busy reading posts
Im so hoping to walk the 20min walk to Mr M today even though it is so hard work pushing a double buggy up all the hills around here, im sure the buggy weighs more than me. so it saves me 90p on bus fare but if its raining i will have no choice. I will get the bus back though from town as its all up hill from town to home. I was hoping for a NSD day BUT i need something to put on my suitcase to indentify its mine when i get it back from luggage department in Cyprus as my suitcase is bright pink!! Im so sure someone wil have the same. I might get some ribbon and tie it round the handle..cheap and i think i can get it from the market
Any ideas???

Gggggoooooddddd Mmmmoooorrrrnnniiinnnggg, Janey, Musmzy, Kittikins and everybody!
Still faffing around with bank statements and receipts and paperwork. Out this morning with OH for a business mtg; should be good.
A colleague is going to put some financial records in the post for his business, so that I can adapt (copy) them to suit my needs. He gains nothing from sharing this so it's very kind of him. I'm a great believer in RAK (random acts of kindness; althou I don't need a fancy name for it).
I do, however, need fancy names for anything financial, so I like the idea of interest beater very much. I will keep it in mind for later in the year.
Back later. Have a fabulous day, each one of you people.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
Hi everyone..
Mumzy..they give you suitcase labels to write your name on at the airport, so you shouldn't need to buy one. They have generally had them at check in...
I've had some DDs come out today, so I will update my signature in a bit...
This mini challenge...if your doing £4000 plus Child Benefit, does that mean you work out what the interest would be on that combined amount?
Right, I'm off to get my finger out.....catch up with you all later...0 -
Morning everyone and hello to new frugalite kittikins.
I will have to get my act together and suss out the best ISA deal for us and I need to check what interest has been added to our savings as of yesterday.:D
Anyone been caught out for April Fool's Day yet?
I was really disappointed that I had to spend another £2.61 the Co-op yesterday as DH really really wanted a bit of cheese and the remains of some grated Parmesan in the bottom of a tub was not enough to satisfy the Cheese Demon :rotfl:
I was going to do a "after Payday and First of the Month Shop" but I am having a dive into the bottom of the freezer to see what I can make into a meal. I have the remains of a cooked chicken which I rescued from my Mum's fridge. It still looks and smells OK but, is it safe to eat.....from last Thursday :eek:0
