Hi guys, who mentioned Freecycle?! :j And Bails, you're a MOD on FREECYCLE?? That is excellent! I'm hoping to have someone arrive tonight to collect some of the extra pepper and cherry tomato plants that I potted (into the pots I got via Freecycle last weekend.) I've also just enquired about a Bike for DGD as her little tricycle is far too small now. If I'm lucky enough to get the bigger one, I'll freecycle the little one. I've now joined 3 groups between home and mum's, and there are so many things going through! I could have had a 27' double glazed conservatory (if I owned a house)!
Back soon, someone arrivedI reserve the right not to spend.

Evening frugalites.
Have had a traumatic 48 hrs as one of our old cats went missingDH has been in tears most of the time as the cat was his special friend and they spent many a happy afternoon snoozing together or walking around the garden chatting away.
So this morning the house was doom and gloom and very very sad.
About an hour ago...who should walk in the door but old "Pooh" as DH calls his little pal.
So all is well in the Janey household again :T :j
On a frugal note. Made a big pan of lamb and lentil chilli which made 10 portions out of a pound of freezer mince, pound of lentils and lots of vegs and herbs/spices:j

Hi all, I'm back.
Janey, that is great news about 'Pooh' cat coming home, I was dreading what the end of your post was going to be. Phew, for ', glad all is well. Excellent frugal recipe for the chilli - it must be Chilli Tuesday, because I made a pot of it in the slow cooker today for DS and myself, mainly veggies, and we'll be having that tomorrow again, probably with baked potatoes (or more rice). What I am not sure about is, can I freeze the rest when it has kidney beans in it?
Shaz - I like the sound of your local self-sufficiency club!
My excess tomato plants and pepper plants have now been successfully freecycled and I had a good chat with the girl who arrived. Apparently we also have an offline version that trades in trades - plumbers, joiners, electricians, jam making, child care, car share etc. She's going to email me the details soon, so I'll let you know if it's something that's nationwide or if it's purely local.I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.
