Like WOW, how many posts are put on this thread! :grouphug:
I've not really been on this thread before, I work silly shifts so don't get to go on here that often. I found this site by accident, I was told by a colleague, (who used to work in a bank) that I could reclaim my PPI from a loan I had going. I didn't believe him :rolleyes2 so I Googled it and found this site. :j
So to answer everyone, I've been around for a few weeks :hello: but mainly on the PPI boards.
Thanks for all the info above, I did look at the figures and was wondering how people could survive on £4K a year, I doubt I would though, with 2 adults and 3 kids, a car and a 25 mile round trip to work everyday. Am looking at maybe £5K PA, but will look more closely over the next few days.0 -

It was supposed to be NSD for me today but then I just had to go and buy some [STRIKE]chocolate[/STRIKE] food for my piggies. Managed to find a pot of soup whoopsied down to 50p so I know now what I shall have for lunch tomorrow. And I did this despite my DD telling me today when I was taking her to the nursery not to go shopping AGAIN but go and do some work instead. Mumzy - I will hit the big four oh next year :eek:. And I will start a college this year where everybody are going to be half my age. Oh well. Nothing else to report from here except I got few more years to live due to laughing so much in the bingo. Nyk's pselling was absolutely hilarious :rotfl:.
Night night everybody.

I'm 35 and old-at-heart, I think!
I was reading a thread over the past few days by a 21 year old fresh out of Uni whose mother wanted to start charging her rent, having spoilt her for years.
Anyway, I have already agreed with DS (currently aged 11) that when he is 13 I will pay him to help out in my business. He was of course interested in the pay.
Mindful of the thread, I said that it would be a very fair rate for the job, however, to prepare him for budgetting in real life, I would charge him one-third of his salary in board and lodging. He was incredulous and gave me a stare worthy of Anne Robinson before announcing that he would not be paying to live with his parents!
He has since decided that he may pay £2 per month, and if I don't like that then he's going to live with his grandparents!
He'll thank me one day!

Can't believe I'm still up, it's way past my bedtime in the week, but I've put away all the shopping, and shouldn't be charged delivery:D:j
I'm 49 :eek::eek::eek: and my children are 19 and 17, plus our cat is 50 -

Hello and welcome. Most folk on here with children have £4000 + Child allowance, so you would have that x 3. I think you don't count travel to work or rent or council. Apart from that you can adapt it to suit. For instance, I don't count my DHs :beer: money. He spends more on :beer: than I do on food + household stuff.
I have a salary, he has a small pension and a small salary (works 1.2 days a week) so my personal challenge is not to spend ANY of my salary:j :j :j and to keep bills low enough to only spend his money:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
That looks bad, but my salary has paid/pays for putting four children through school and uni, and one of them will be at uni for 8 years and another 6 years.Doing voluntary work overseas for as long as it takes .......
My DD might make the odd post for me0 -
Just re read. I'm two years from retiring but there is no way I will work in this job till I'm 60. I wouldn't last, I would be dead. So I shall bow out early and find a little job that isn't work IYSWIM
DH is over 60, then 23, 21, 18 and 16, the the animals - 9,6,3,2,2,1 or there aboutsDoing voluntary work overseas for as long as it takes .......
