    Hi guys,
Sorry I haven't posted for a long time - so much has happened. Still trying (desperately) to keep within budget!! Food has gone up hugely and I'm having to subsidize my son's petrol (doubled) so that he can get to college.

I'm well impressed with all your fruit and veg growing. I have grown some potatoes in my old dustbin (redundant now that we have the dreaded wheelie bin), but they seem to have a lot of foilage (hopefully some spuds as well). My lovely sister has bought me a Omlet hen house and run for my Birthday which I'm really looking forward to getting. Apart from that I've got several different types of lettuce and herbs growing in Gro-bags (bought with Garden Vouchers that I won last year.

Might have to break into my free £1,000 before Christmas as my wonderful mum has become very poorly and frail over the last few months, so I have decided that we may do the whole 'Christmas thing' sometime over the Summer instead, don't suppose I'll be able to get a REAL tree!!! Still we could celebrate Aussie style with a Christmas barbie instead.

Still have'nt found out how to signature thingy - but well over budget anyway!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh my goodness, has anybody seen the BBC3 programme "Shopping is my life"??

Lass is 36ish, earns £100k a year and goes to the hairdresser twice a week. Spends £12k a year on dresses and has 200 pairs of shoes. Something like 100 trips to beauty salon too (can't quite remember that figure). All in the last year.

Had to turn off as it seemed so surreal...

bails/nyk - date of wedding couldn't be easier 080808. Not long now, and very little sorted. Did buy my wedding underwear today (expensive due to sheer quantity of material required to squash me into a shape vaguely female).

Had not sent invitations yet so could be a very quiet wedding! Told brother just now that I was having second thoughts about inviting a whole crowd of people because of Dad's interference with the buffet. Said we were thinking of a sitdown meal now for 20. He went a bit white. It turns out that they had told all and sundry to keep the date free. Oops.

bails - I hope it is a proposal (seeing as I never got one!)

marru - well done on your £70.

Hmm. Can't imagine £100k a year salary. You can't really appreciate anything, surely?

Well done Marru, make sure that you buy yourself a treat!

Why do all of your potatoes look smaller than my 'trees'? Maybe there aren't any potatoes underneath. How tall do potato plants usually grow? Mine are about 3 feet tall:eek:
