PS, though this isn't nearly as urgent...how do I use Google Earth? Is it the same as the maps? I'm another one who needs to plan walks.....

There's a fantastic tool available at realbuzz that piggybacks the googlemaps api:

I personally recommend it for planning walking/jogging/running/cycling routes :)

    Good afternoon all
I have been to Aldi today and i got some sweets for the kids at 39p and and some tomato seeds for 35p.
I also went to a shop called QS fashions and i got 4 plant pots for £1 and some strawberry seeds for 50p
I then went on to Mr M to see how much compost was at its 40L for £2.89 (i think), a really dont want to buy it but dont know anyone with any spare compost.. if i buy it i will have loads left over as im only filling 4 plant pots.
I also did my f&v shopping and it came to £7.55 i paid with £6 coupouns so had to put £1.55 towards it. I also picked up the bits i need for the week which only come to £1.81 :)
I forgot salad stuff so will have to go back tomorrow and also need to get some chicken tikka to put on my wraps from farmfoods tomorrow. Will have to buy the compost also :( My DS is dead excited :)
I also spent 35p on bottle of pepsi at netto :)

    so todays spends are: £5.95

NO CIGGIES, Mumzy! Well done! :D

OMG all this news coming in ! All so dramatic - a wedding, a fire - was it an accident, Slowlyfading, or did someone start it on purpose? Awful for you either way.

Whitewing, have you found a venue yet?

Marru, sympathies about the dream house, I have those too. A mere million or so...Yeah, right....

Thanks for the info, MrDT, I'll get onto it.

Can't fret about the beans any more, all this has put it right into perspective and it ain't worth a hill of beans (sorry, couldn't resist) :o

SlowlyFading, what a scary thing to happen, so glad you and everyone else are okay. Just take it easy and get an early night like you say, exams are important but they're not that important IYSWIM. Big hug xx :grouphug:
Mumzy, I see, or rather, I don't see them - well done you!:T
Ooh Marru, sounds lovely, wonder if it's the same place I spied the other day? Is it near us? Great news about your work placement, congratulations! :j
MrDT, thanks so much for that, I'll sign up and chek it out :T

I have managed to dig over my whole veg patch by myself, feeling v proud of myself! It's taken me all day and it's only 2 square metres but I did it! :j

We think that it was someone who had a disposable bbq and didn't put it out properly before putting it in the bin store. Stupid uni students huh?
