Thanks, Bails, I'll try those. Meanwhile, if any experts are lurking out there, I'd still be grateful for your words of wisdom...:D

THEY ARE THE WRONG BEANS....!!! Arghhhhh...:mad::mad: (Rolls about on the floor kicking and screaming, nobody else to blame). Never mind, will drop by the shop on the way back from...ok, let's reschedule...(fades away quietly muttering lists of tasks).

Sorry redglass, perhaps you could get a refund on them? Hope your day works itself out; mine isn't going to plan either if it makes you feel better.

Mine's going great - just got £1900 of backdated tax credit pymnts and am now booking our wedding (possibly, left it a bit late for August!)

I had just carefully read every post and had an entire list of mental notes for responses and then read Whitewing's..... w... w... w...edding?? (Initial reaction, sorry, only 'cos I though you were already married - I had read MIL as mother-in-law) but now :j :j :j wishing you all the luck in the world and best wishes and congratulations and hoping you will be very happy. :)

I've forgotten what everyone else said now... umm... racking brains...

    1. Redglass - sorry about the bushbeans - could you plant them in the middle of the circle?

    2. Sophiesmum - sorry to hear about the lightning strike but you didn't really think you'd get straight off on hols as straightforward as that, did you? :rotfl: Have a brilliant time!

    3. Mumzy - Google Gretna Green, it is THE wedding village. We're probably about 100 miles from there.

    4. Marru - I'd have asked the neighbours to come and help lift the shelves and let them feel bad if they had the audacity to refuse a woman in need ... try it next time. :D

    5. Bails - Wow! to OH's mountain bike! That was, indeed, a fabulous bargain! I hope it's exactly as he expects and gets loads of use out of it. And good luck with your fruagal online meanders and outdoor expeditions.

    6. Tryingtodobetter - check out the gardening threads on MSE, that's where I started. First things you need are large tubs and soil/compost and then get yourself some potatoes in there. Instructions are definitely on this site somewhere, have you tried searching forums for container gardening and such like? Will post a link as soon as I find them.

Will now need to go back and re-read the posts as I'm bound to have forgotten something - apologies to those missed out so far :)

    Thanks everyone.

I did use MIL as mother in law as I couldn't be bothered to write OH's mum each time!

Congratulations Whitewing, fantastic news! I hope you can find a venue in time.

I've managed to dig over almost half of one patch, so frustrating but getting there slowly. I'm starting this one again as basically nothing grew - too eager with my planting, rubbsih soil (long story) - and the latest slug plan is to go with the electric fence as OH thinks that's the way least things will die  They are merrily chomping their way through my beans, only planted 2 days ago  At this rate I'll need to think of a good use for slugs and start a slug farm!

OH is very, very happy with his bike, it's all good and a real bargain :T

I just found my dream house, 5 bed detached farm house with 35 acres of land and comes with stables and excisting livery business. AND it is in the catchment area of the school where I want to get my DD to go. Now I only need to find £915,000.- Oh well easy peasy . I did get a free trial for getting lotto rows on mobile (makes a mental note to cancel it on Sunday) so one never knows.

    Back to work...

Ooh, just got an email. I needed to find a work placement as a mandatory part of my course and the place that was my first choice have accepted me!!! I will be working with horses and bunnies one day per week starting autumn. Can't wait :j

    Back to my reconciliations...
