New worcester 37 cdi - HELP SET MY MIND AT EASE!

Cheers again all!
Got the guys coming back today and leaving it on most of the day for them to here.
They said I could have TRVs or a room stat but recommended TRVs as he has just them! He said it has an auto-bypass so....!???
It is also condensating into my bathroom somewhere so maybe something to do with that!?
Will Worcester not charge me in the end though if not the actual boiler???0 -

Boiler is an Alpha 35CD and there's no noise when the TRV's turn off.
Good morning: Alpha does an excellent programmable wireless roomstat ,'Easystat', that is cheap to fit...shame you didn't opt for one as you would then be able to achieve optimum efficiency from your system

Hmm, I didn't know...I'll have a look at it..thanks0 -
My CH was installed with just TVR's & no room stat.
However, the WB man gave me one the last time he was here to service the boiler as he said it was more efficient and would reduce my bills as the boiler wouldn't be cycling all the time.
Tbh, I dont completely understand the need for one. I suspect I'm being very dense here, though. We control each room's heat individually via the rad's tvr and a room stat would override that individual control which might not be a good thing.
What happens when our youngest's room is not warm enough after her bath for instance yet we're sweating buckets downstairs? Herman - MP for all!

The two work together.
The room stat turns the system on or off depending on the temperature at its location. For that reason you put it in the coldest place (usually the hall) and also have the nearest radiator on full. (You don't want the TRV turning the radiator off before the room stat gets to temperature otherwise the room stat keeps the system running to try to get the hall warmer except it can't because the TRV is set lower!). Ours is in the hall and set to 18C - however because the hall is cold and the radiator heat there has to do the stairs and landing as well, if we had simple valves on the room rads, the temperatures in those rooms would be massive. (Our boys room even with the TRV on 2/3rds is about 20C!) That's where the TRV's come in and allow you to control down the heat in the rooms - in your case you'd have your youngests set a bit higher and maybe your downstairs ones down a bit.
There is a bit of an art to balancing it but with both you can get it very finely tuned and it really is set it and forget it. No more running to the boost button when the temperature drops because the room stat will turn it on for you.Adventure before Dementia!0 -
Ah...I think I get it now. Although I had to read your post a few times, lol. Isn't it weird how some things you just have a mental block with?
It was the hall that the WB man suggested putting the stat too, so it makes a bit more sense now. Thanks.Herman - MP for all!

Hi folks, had the guy around for 2 hours last night basically going over everything and explaining it all. It all sounds fine and makes sense but still hissing away after 3-4 hours but normal he says as a compressed pressured system and i'm not used to one. Just hot water flowing to the rads still on that the valves haven't shut off on!?
I have an auto-bypass yeah so why useless with no stat?
Do I try for this worcester freebie??
Could it be a co2 emissions thing???0 -
PS also a few of our radiators seem to gurgle after the toilet is flushed???0

I thought it was part of the building regs (Part L??) That you had to have a room stat fitted now if you are having work done??
And I am sure there is a section in the benchmark log book you need to have a tick by relating to the room-stat (does the system comply with current building regs) and some even mention the room-stat.0
