Really sorry Thev, I completely get how you're feeling. I try to remember that feeling when I get tempted to spend, as I'd rather have the long term benefits than a few little treats now. It's not much help when you're facing up to 5 digits of debts though. How is yours so high, your sig is nowhere near that amount?

Oh yeah, I don't stick it all in my sig as that would just be too depressing! The other cash I owe is student loan and a bit to family too. I have done a lot of studying so the loan is high, although at least the interest rates on them are very very low.

I think I was lucky when I did it I could only get money for fees, and not for my post grad study, so I only borrowed 9k. If I graduated now I wouldn't count my student loan as debt I'd just consider it a tax I'd pay until I was 50ish.

Exactly, that's why I don't put it in my sig....as I may not end up having to pay it all anyway. Even if I do, I think Martin says the low interest rates mean it's better in the long run to put any extra cash in a savings account rather than making overpayments.

Aye, and if you're planning to have a morgage as a rule they'll be at a lower rate than the student loan. I only want to clear mine as I would like to be self employed some day, and for self employed people there is a flat rate of around £150 a month, which would be a bit of a pain to find as a start up.

Righty-ho, it's been a few days so time for a catch-up. And no, I am not calling you a 'ho', my dear reader. :)

So, there's a bit of good news, I *might* have a bit more work coming my way in the next few months. It's only agency catering work at a local hospital, but it might fit quite well around my waitressing work. I am still looking for a full-time role of course, but there seems to be a lot of part-time work around at the moment. So this would be fab in the meantime, to fill a little gap. And no, I don't mean your little gap, reader. :D

December should be fine anyway thanks to the many-splendoured xmas parties booked in at the restaurant, but Nov is looking really really tight for cash. I have a shift this weekend but I am trying to scrabble around for some pennies to fill the car with petrol. Also I have to find:
    - another £80 for CC1's minimum payment (by the 20th)
    - car insurance direct debit (about 57 quid)
    - and phone bill (15 quid).

The silliest thing that is getting me down at the moment is that I really really need a haircut. Wish I had a spare £30, it is at that 'inbetweeny' phase right now and looks like crap. There is nothing I can do with it. :( On the plus side, the garden centre sent me a voucher for 25p today. Now if they could only do that another 160,000 times, all my prayers would be answered!! So let's hope for some kind of mass printing/posting voucher-related error :D

Hello there! Yes, the 'OD charges hole' is one to definitely avoid, once you get in it's very hard to get out of it! It is like a vicious circle. I have been there sooo many times but not for a few months now, which I'm quite pleased with.

I am going to try curling my hair tonight to see if that makes it look any better, at the moment it looks like rats tails :O( and makes me feel oh so unattractive! I am doing a lot of hat wearing.

Candle-making is ok - they are a bit small! I need to buy some bigger moulds but they are quite expensive at Hobbycraft....perhaps after I get paid I'll look for some on Ebay. Unfortunately a few of my friends dislike candles (crazy people, I've no idea what's to dislike!) so I am limited regarding who I can give them as gifts to.

I am having a few good days regards sleep patterns, apart from my mid-pm snooze yesterday (which I am going to blame on my flu jab) I am pretty much on normal hours. Feels good. Still rubbish on the exercise front though - I can be a right lazy cow at times!

I had the flu jab yesterday, I had to leave work at 2pm today and came home for a 3 hour nap - I thought I was just being a wuss!

I ended up having a three hour nap too! And today the injection site is a bit red - but I'm certainly not moaning, it's a small price to pay for having no flu! So we must both be wusses!
