i have just been to my local butchers and picked up half a lamb for £44 all cut up into meals for 4 (theres loads :j ) butcher asked me whether i wanted the bones for the dog and i said yes as i have a rottie so i got a bag of fresh lamb bones for the dog for 12p. i`ve just opened this bag of "bones" and theres enough meat left on the bone to do a decent soup with so i have stuck them all in the slowcooker and will pick the meat off later
. i think next time i fancy making soup i will def be popping in for some more bones for the dog as it looks like i will be able to get a decent meal out of them for myself for 12p!! then of course the dog can have a go on them after i`ve finished with them
:rotfl: bargain for 12p!!
Our local butcher puts beef bones in plastic bags outside his shop for the dog, I don't have a dog, but it doesn't stop me having one or two bags to make stock with (there isn't any meat to speak of on them, but they make great stock)0 -
I have just streched 325grams of mince to make approx 9 meals by bulking it out.
325 grams of mince meat
1 onion
tin toms
tin baked beans
half tin salad beans
few lentils
breadcrumbs
little bit of made up gravy
I made half of this into a cottage pie and the rest i put into the freezer which will make at least another 5 meals. My DD said the cottage pie was really nice (bit of a fussy eater) and my DD is 6ft 3, 16 st and with veg on the side it was enough for him.
For afters i made a crumble out of some wrinkly eating apples we had left and half tin custard that would have gone in the bin  .
Also had to tell someone..... Had to drop DS to tesco (to met some mates) so i went in, and glad i did, they had sausage and bean lattice at 40p each, i bought 6 but they were bogof so i got the 6 for £1.20 and will put them in my freezer YAY for the yellow stickers :rotfl: :T .

well done rigsby
I love those yellow stickers - i had two 4 pints of organic semi skimmed milk yesterday - both of them reduced to 95p each so for £1.90 i had 8 pints of milk - they are now in the freezer as we seem to be cutting back on milk lately - well boyfriend picked up the 2 for £2 ones the other day so have plenty of milk now.
I always look out for a bargain - was gutted did a shop the otehr day with boyfriend in tow - so had no time to check for whoopsies as he is a bit of a sell by date freak - so said after we'd paid 'oh hang on i forgot soemthing' so he went to pack the car and after id just spent allmy money saw loads of sausages / pies/ cuts of meat reduced - was not best impressed
although nwo i will go shopping alone so i can whoopsie shop my heart out.
also thanks for the tip abotu butchers and dog boens - we now have 2 in town so think i might ask them if they have any bones for the dog 9and yes i do actually have a pooch)Time to find me again0 -

I don't see why not. But the banana skins needs to be reasonably fresh - remember they oxydise quickly, like apples - so how many will you need to eat?Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -

Well done you:T I can't remember the last time I got the multi buy savings on any rtc. In fact a few of the supermarkets state on their reduction labels that the item is excluded from any multi buy promotions.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member # 593 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts!0 -
