If the thought of 'if it's yellow let it mellow' makes you squirm a bit, use one of those blue toilet flush blocks as a disguise0

Won't that either just make it green, or, at worst, blue and make it look like you're suffering from porphyria (it's what they reckon "mad" George III had). The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0 -
We can only get hot water if we also have the central heating on so I have to make sure all of the radiators are switched off manually if I want water when the weather is hot.
So I bought one of those solar showers you get to take camping today from Netto for £2.99.
You fill the bag with up to 20 litres (5 gallons) of water, leave it in the sun and after about 3 hours you have hot water which can be up to 58 degrees.
I am going to leave it out in the sun tomorrow (hoping that we get some) and bring it in and fill the washing up bowl with it.
This sounds a good idea, I'll see where our nearest Netto is and have a go. Or if no Netto, see if I can get one cheap somewhere else.0 -

We used to use large plastic drinks bottles to heat up water when we used to go camping.
You could stand them on the windowsill to get the heat through the window glass if you are in a flat or if you have a south facing porch or conservatory.
These bottles are free and you can have loads of them... enought to fill a bath perhaps?0 -

Can't you switch the thermostat for the heating off but still have the hot water? We can with our CH0 -
Rather than throw away almost a whole loaf of bread i have made it into bread crumbs.
Can anyone tell me what i can do with them apart from making chicken nuggets and breaded mushrooms please  .
Can they be used for bulking something or other out?
Thank you

breadscrumbs freeze well so you could portion them up and freeze them. I use them for HM fishcakes(coating) and on top of pasta bakes and cauliflower cheese.Do what you love :happyhear0 -
This thread is amazing! I have just been reading this for about an hour instead of working (oops!)
I only ever use half an OXO cube as I find that a whole one is too much... OH used to moan at me but I caught him doing it the other dayI also had the girls round for drinks the other night... I froze a few batches of ice cubes and put them all into a big tupperware box - loads of ice for the party!
I've learnt so many tips from this thread that I need to try!:j0
