The kids moaned I'd bought Tesco Value crisps, so I stuck them in a bowl instead of leaving them in the packets before giving them to them. None the wiser and actually they said they liked them! Just goes to show if they don't see packaging they're none the wiser. Result a lot of money saved :D

i have had a pitt rock for about 18 months now, it was £5 from asda.

I swear by this available from larger stores of Boots, I've used it for many years, alternatively, I sometimes use this from the body shop, they often have 3 for 2 on, which makes it a money saving item.

  • We've used flora light for years, but we now use Asda sunflower light - just as nice in our opinion, about half the price, and it doesn't have that slightly rancid smell that some cheaper sunflower spreads have!

I've had a 'tube squeezer' device for ages- you can use it for any tubes of things like Toothpaste and tomato puree and you just turn the 'key' and it squeezes the tube for you! It also acts as a 'stand' for the toothpaste .No more cutting tubes open etc and at the very end you can take it out of the device to get the very last bit out

    Bought for 99p in Morrisons

My mum gave me a 'tube' squeezer when I moved in with OH - I didn't think to use it in the kitchen too! But it does stop OH from throwing out toothpaste with loads still in them!

I have no idea where to post this, so I'll pop it in here :p

I bought a little pot of parsley, but I couldn't use it all and it was starting to die so what I did was freeze it. Nothing unusal there, I hear you say...

Only, instead of faffing around trying to cut it all up and freezing in icecube trays, etc, I popped it into a little plastic bag and straight into the freezer. When it was frozen, it was easy just to bash the bag a little and voila! chopped, frozen parsely ready to add in teaspoonfuls, rather than cubes :D

It works with any other herbs, too :)

I use a tablespoon of soap flakes in my washer bottle in the car.
The windows are squeeky clean without too much foam, it is as good, if not better than leading brands. Not sure if it effects paint or rubber but the car is old now so I don't care.
Lets get this straight. Say my house is worth £100K, it drops £20K and I complain but I should not complain when I actually pay £200K via a mortgage:rolleyes:

I used to buy evaporated milk when the kids were little.
It is cheaper (or was then) than full cream and you can reconstitute it back to full cream by following the instructions on the tin.
OH and I have always drunk UHT skimmed as it has all the goodness of full cream but without the fat content (and ofcourse is cheaper).

Anybody remember the days when tins of evap had instructions on the label for diluting it for baby's feeding formula? How times have changed!
