Chinese supermarkets sell large bags of bicarb for about £2.500

Scout car boot sales for branded partially used/unused toiletries - you can usually pick them up for 10 - 50p depending on whether you're willing to haggle!
Boot sales are good for restocking on candles too.
Re-boil left over washing up water and throw over weeds on drives to kill them. If you do this a couple of times a day for a few days you'll rid your drive of weeds without boiling from cold each time.
Left over tea bags are good for the soil - rip 'em up, add water and sprinkle over plants.
If you run out of toothpaste - use bicarb of soda or dip toothbrush into mouthwash and clean with that!
If fruit is on the turn/wrinkled make a fruit puree to freeze or use to make sorbet.
If you're going to leave your computer on all night, make sure the monitor is switched off!0 -
CORRECTION TO THE VINEGAR IN DRINKING WATER POST - IT ISNT NORMAL VINEGAR IT IS APPLE CIDAR VINEGAR. just looked on the label and thought i best let you guys know....what am i like
Thought of a few more tips though,
If your stuck for space to hang your washing, you can hang things over your shower rail - i did this today with 5 towels all drying nicely
to help keep drains clear put salt, bi carb of soda and vinegar down and it will bubble and fizz up but gets rid of build up of grease etcp.s you dont need to use loads!
When i go round to my parents my dad and my brother always leave loose change on the side (they hate carrying coins) so if i ask nicely i get to keep them - might not be much but i put it straight into my piggy bank (it all adds up) - might work :rotfl:
Charge your phone up in the car or the office to save your electric
Leave your bedding on for 1 day longer than you usually would (ie 8days instead of 7) you'll miss out 6 rounds of washing a year that way on one duvet setSame for towels, try using them twice - after all your clean when you dry yourself with it - just make sure you air it out to keep it fresh

The windows are squeeky clean without too much foam, it is as good, if not better than leading brands. Not sure if it effects paint or rubber but the car is old now so I don't care.
Soap flakes? Like washing powder?#145 Save £12k in 2016 Challenge: £12,062.62/£12,000.00 Beginning Balance: £5,027.78 CHALLENGE MET

Thanks Yategirl - just checked it out and even when their website re-opens mid June, seems that for the KG price, it will still be cheaper for me to buy 5 x 200g tubs in Asda or Tesco... such a shame!MFW #185

The £0.99p stores normally have the rubberised dryer balls that apparently save energy, but I don't have a tumble dryer so maybe someone else knows more...MFW #185
