Not sure if this ones been mentioned but if anyine uses stick concealer or lipstick try this
when you get to the end use the end of tweezers to scoop out the rest into a small tub, it lasts for another few weeks ( you'd be surprised how much is under the level)
Another sneeky thing I'm planning to do this year is open any Xmas presents I get before Xmas eve, anything me ( my 4 year old or my OH ) don't like/won't use take back for a refund ( gift vouchers/card ) Then use this card after Xmas in the sales to buy twice as much , sounds mean but I think it's practical
Also something I've been doing for the past few years is buying MY Xmas/Birthday presents from my other half either in the jan sales or perfume when on holidays, wrap as soon as I get them and by the time Xmas/Birthday rolls round I have forgotten what it is so it's a surprise and I getnsomething I really what and much chaeaper as my OH would just buy something full price
MLSL
My favs so far
Do all Xmas shopping Boxing day or jan sales
Boiling water for weed killer
Bulking up mince dinner with carrots etc ( must be healthier )
Thanks for all you tips & keep them comingBusy mum of 3, so if my posts don't make sense or ask a silly question be patient:rotfl:0 -
I too only buy Mr Muscle, but I always alway pour half of it into an empty sprayer and top each up with water, that way I get two and it last twice as long, Mr Muscle is soo strong anyway.
Sorry but Vingear doesn't work for me, the house stinks and it doesn't clean particularly well.
Just want to thank all of you who have kindly given ideas re the shower spray. It's funny how one can get into a habit of using something just because a manufacturer has 'invented' it, isn't it. I've been thinking back to when I was a child (yes, have a good memory to think that far back) and we didn't use any of the things we take as 'essential' today, but our home was always clean and didn't stink of chemicals.0 -

I've never heard of this one, does this work then?
I've used boiling hot water on ants before now but never weeds.
To be honest, we have that many it would probably cost me a fortune to keep reheating the kettle!0 -

I bought a 2 litre full fat milk and mixed it with 5 pints of powdered milk from the cupboard (made up as per directions) and split this between 3 x 2 litre containers - adding a little more water along the way. I thought I could get away with this but OH and DS both caught me in the act and now declare the milk is 'horrible' and unuseable. I can't help thinking that if they hadn't seen what I was doing they would have been non the wiser but now we're left with over 4 litres of milk they "don't like". Do I need to discard this or can I use it for something else or undo the damage by mixing with some more full-fat?
Make a huuuuge rice pudding :rotfl:I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

I went to ALDI on the weekend and can report that their longlife semi-skimmed milk is £0.57 (I think... may be £0.58) so therefore, ASDA are better when they do the 4 x 1litre for £2, hence £0.50 per litre.
Catch the ASDA deals when you can...
Anyone else know of cheaper 1 litre packs?MFW #185

I have weaned my daughter off cotton wool pads completely by giving her some of my liz earle muslin cloths. I am currently looking out for some cheap ones to cut up and make more,as suggested on here,as I have never made my own.
SuziQ - on ebay you can get 12 sheets, which makes 48 facecloths, for around £5 + postage  They even do pink ones if your little one would prefer those :T

I often use dried milk when mixing pancakes, Yorkshire puds or waffle-iron waffles (all the same basic mix, give or take). It works fine and adds food value for my pickiest child. I also like to substitute water for part of the milk in these things as I read (Delia I think) that it makes a lighter end product, and it certainly seems to work. So treat the milk as a special ingredient and give the family pancakes - or use it to make porridge or rice pudding or some other cooked milk dish, where the consistency of the original milk is changed a bit by cooking.
Sorry the family caught you at it by the way! Better luck next time!Miggy
