With regards to vinegar 'stinking' I use the white stuff-just as effective but doesn't smell (hence you can use it as fabric conditioner.)I buy big containers and it really is cheap.
Can I ask where you buy the really big containers from? I've been keeping my eyes peeled but haven't spotted any yet!0 -

Chinese supermarkets quite often stock the bigger containers. The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -
If you like fresh coriander in a curry, check out your local market or indian supermarket for a big bunch - take it home and pop it into a big freezer bag. Once frozen give the bag a quick bash on the worktop and you'll end up with the coriander nicely broken up (ie not in whole leaves any more) and you can then use it a little at a time to add to your home made curries. . Bear in mind though - it defrosts REALLY fast once you take it out of the freezer so you need to work quickly and get it straight back in!
Not certain how well this would work for other herbs - I tend to have parsley, basil, thyme and rosemary on the go in the herb planter all the time, but would be worth trying I would think🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

My children (all flown the nest now) thought I was very sad when I made a plastic bag holder from the cut off sleeve of a sweatshirt. I turned over the top and threaded elastic through, hung it up and pull used bags from the knitted cuff end.
I've been using it for years now and it's still great (and it washes easily too).I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
I recently bought some cheddar on bogoff which came in a ziplock bag. I've finished the cheddar but am now going to use the bab to store the next block which hasn't come in a resealable bag. How often do I not wrap cheese properly and then find one side's gone dry and I have to cut it off:eek:

I saw a thread where people were requesting Sainsbury's to carry bigger bottles of it. I was shocked, myself, when I moved here and couldn't find large bottles. In America, I think they're about 1/2 gallon or so, and very cheap.:beer:0 -

I bought a 5 litre white vinegar from my local farm shop for about £1.50 last year.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
EEK. Have just ruined our milk supply by trying to be frugal. I bought a 2 litre full fat milk and mixed it with 5 pints of powdered milk from the cupboard (made up as per directions) and split this between 3 x 2 litre containers - adding a little more water along the way. I thought I could get away with this but OH and DS both caught me in the act and now declare the milk is 'horrible' and unuseable. I can't help thinking that if they hadn't seen what I was doing they would have been non the wiser but now we're left with over 4 litres of milk they "don't like". Do I need to discard this or can I use it for something else or undo the damage by mixing with some more full-fat?

Buy another matching bottle of milk at the same size to put into use immediately. As soon as a little has gone out of it top up with a little of the other milk, and then you can gradually introduce the other stuff over a few days? Make sure they don't catch you this time though! They may well still claim that they don;t like it, in which case you wave the till-receipt under their noses and tell them it's all in their minds! :rotfl:🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Can you freeze it, then let it "reappear" in a week or so's time?0
