fake tan....i used to do this when i was a teenager. cold wet tea bags. over the skin. or even better immerse yourself in a bath of tea for a slight colour change to your skin. may stain the bath hence i never was allowed to do it in the bath but it did give my skin a very slight 'tan' subtle not dayglow orange

had a good laugh visualising someone lying in a bath of cold tea when there is thick snow outside:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:.....think I will stick with fake tan!

just had a book delivered from a 2nd hand site(won't name as not complaining about site)the description was a hardback book but it was a paperback which was badly creased so I don't feel I can sell it on,I have left negative feedback and this is a rare occurance as most people who sell on these sites are good and honest about the state of books.I have complained to the site in the past and had a refund but was still out of pocket as had to pay postage.just wanted to say buyer beware when buying 2nd hand

If your loaf has gone a little stale but you dont fancy toasting it micro the slices for a few seconds and it freshens and softens it up for a sarnie.

What a brilliant thread, I'm nowhere near the end as it is soooo long but have picked up loads of tips already.

I have nothing thrifty to add but noticed a lot of people picking up fresh bones for their dogs and cooking them. Please do not give your dog cooked bones as they splinter and perforate the throat/stomach. It's something that may never happen to your dog but if it does you'll either be left with a hefty vets bill or a dead dog.

Sorry to sound so abrupt, I have 3 dogs of my own and wouldn't want anyone to go through the heartache of losing their dog this way :o

I got the impression the bones were cooked up to make stock, not for the dogs to eat.

    I may be wrong though!

It amazes me that so many people buy new decorations every year. I haven't bought any since my children were tiny and the youngest is 26 in a fortnight. I have always taken them down with care and reboxed for the following year and since the children have homes of their own now, lots of the deccies have been rehomed with them - are ours the oldest deccies around?:rotfl:
I still have a couple which the family had when i was 5/6 so 30 odd years ago.
    My self & hubby; 2 sons (30 & 26). Hubby also a found daughter (37).
Eldest son has his own house with partner & her 2 children (11 & 10)
Youngest son & fiancé now have own house.
    So we’re empty nesters.
    Daughter married with 3 boys (12, 9 & 5).
My mother always served up leftovers we never knew what the original meal was. - Tracey Ulman

I'm currently busy decluttering a box of Turkish Delight:D:D and it has just occurred to me that rather than chucking away all that icing sugar that's in the box as per previous years I could just add it so my existing box of icing sugar. Doh!

the ones I come up with I sometimes think are dippily stoopid and you're all going to laugh at me for typing them!

Today I parked a mile away from work, as the closer I get, the harder it is to get a parking space, and I end up driving round a block anything up to 20 times to find a space. So today, I decided to park further away and just walk in ... saving the petrol primarily, but the exercise was good too! (Just as well, given all the cheats I've eaten today!!)
