wilkinsond so one for 5.00 and that is pretty good, our local B&M had the wonder brooms(JML) for 2.99 the other day and the hand held ones for 1.50

tesco sell wonderbrooms on the JML rack (they are the yellow and black ones) but i round them harder rubber than the wilkos one and i actually prefer my wilkos one but use my wonderbroom for outside. its perfect on the slabs!!

the hand held ones are acr for cleaning rabbit hutches etc, and scrubbing the toilet etc

here is flyladys ideas for them

When I first bought my own tree I really wanted some of the American folk art type decorations but I'd finished work [my son was a baby] so I decided that I couldn't justify the cost. Instead I used the Shaker catalogues I already had for inspiration and got my OH to cut out various wooden decorations from scrap wood. I then decorated them in a similar fashion to the photos and 11 years on I'm still pleased with them.

PS my only "new decoration" this year was a bauble that took my fancy in a charity shop for 59p. I have a gold bowl that my sister no longer wanted which I fill with my most gorgeous baubles as I find they get lost on the tree and don't really go with the Shaker type decs. I put it in the middle my dining table on top of a glitzy mat that also came from the charity shop. It's quite eyecatching!

My Christmas Tree fairy is 42! I was born in December 42 years ago and my dad being very proud went and bought their first Christmas tree and fairy, and I still have her.

Ok, she has one arm, green plastic knickers, no top, wings or hair....but I love her.:rotfl:

Our Christmas Tree (well the one that goes in the hallway) was bought a week before my boyfriend was born. That was in 1972! It still has the same lights which were bought with it as well.

He has always put this tree up, but last year I made us buy a nice new one to put in the front room as his is a bit bare....

I know there were some posts about boiling water and using flasks. I've got better at using the right amount of water and if there is anything left over, it goes into a flask for later. In this cold weather, I've found it useful for de-icing the bird bath.

Also, the water from the tap is very cold at the moment and so takes extra energy to boil it. So when I've emptied the kettle after boiling, I refill immediately as the hot element warms the water so it doesn't take as long to boil next time. And it protects the element of course.

    Good ideas:T

Wouldn't it be great if the recession and concerns about the planet began to bring back the same sort of attitudes
