Hi I think I remember reading on thei thread about bread crumbs as a cleaner (or have I gone potty?)
I have pulled donw my wedding dress and shoes from the loft and am surprized just how darned clean they are, but I'm picky and there are a couple of dust marks on the hem (I didn't have a train and wasn't drinking (I just found out I was pregnant with DS1..) so it wasn't badly abused on the day, lol. Plus a couple of (again light) make up marks on the straps.
Shoes and dress are satin - would work and is it dried or fresh bread?
I don't mind taking a chance on them - I want to try and sell them and doubt I'd make my money back if I dry cleaned them so in that respect there's nothing to lose...?

Shortie - just to let you know, there is a charity who will take Wedding dresses for a very good cause. I'll let you read about it yourself. Bonnie babiesA little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

That describes our bedroom windows this morning - and after putting up some superwarm thick curtains over the front door we now wait with bated breath every morning to see what todays thick ice pattern on the inside of the door will be!People Say that life's the thing - but I prefer reading

I still have a couple which the family had when i was 5/6 so 30 odd years ago.
We have always recycled the Xmas decs since I was a kid. It was only a few years back that I realised some people buy new each year (I'm 33!). Our oldest bauble is from my grandparents first xmas as a married couple and it is their 60th anniversary this year! Beat that:rotfl::T:rotfl:0 -
Yep, done this too! also sewed poppers on tops of socks to pair them up before washing.
while i haven't gone to quite the same amount of effort, i too do the all one colour/type of socks
then i make certain to hang them together when they are drying either in the house or on the laundry line. as i take things off to be put away i put them together and fold the top down so they stay put as a pair
any random socks get put in a wee box in my room, they find their mates eventually0 -

What about those wipe things you buy to use in tumble drier for dry-cleaning clothes. Cant remember name but think they are around £3-4 which would be perfect.

I do this! I have a pretty bag hanging on my door for odd socks, and it is amazing how many of them do get paired off eventually. Better than chucking them out or putting them back into the drawer individually (then they have no hope of 'finding their mate', as you so sweetly put it).Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs
