Good idea's for peg bags.
Yesterday I had another walk around town, Found 2p on the floor.
Splashed out on a thermal baselayer longsleaved top for cold weather in plum colour for £14.99. Packet says " our cosy thermal baselayer is the first step in keeping you warm. It is designed to be worn against the skin as your first layer of protection. The brushed inner surface traps warm air from your body keeping you snug. Bought in Millets. I have had tops like this before and you can realy tell the diffrence in cold weather.
I also bought a pair of boot type slippers £7.99 in Christmas red. My feet always seem to get cold first.
Another cookery book from the charity shop. Michael Barry's Radio Times Cookery Year. Very MSE - HOME COOKING. £1.
Last of all a pudding bowl for a recipy in thr SC today.
Any one else been to the shops lately? If winter comes, can spring be far behind?

Talk to your pharmacist more often!
Many expensive UK brand named medicines have cheaper alternatives with the same active ingredients. eg
Benylin Chesty Cough linctus contains guaifenesin and levomenthol. Your pharmacist will stock their own brand of this medicine with the same main ingredient at half the price of Benylin.
Sudofed decongestant contains Phenylephrine hydrochloride and can be treated similarly.
Alternatively ask your pharmacist for free medicines. Some people on low incomes can register with their pharmacist and receive free medicines like paracetamol under the Minor Ailments Scheme. Once you're registered you just go to the pharmacist, describe your symptoms and you'll be given an appropriate medication. It depends where you live but my service is detailed below:

In my area you can get free medication for all of these ailments
This should apply to me but how do I find my local community pharmacy? I only have Boots near us."Sometimes life sucks....but the alternative is unacceptable."0 -

This is something that I have done many a time. And now that I have a bunch of my grandchildrens clothes around, I am itending to make some more to sell eventually. Once the twins have a chosen one of course. But at the moment they are in flats and tumble dry. So don't need a peg bag.
But they can also be used as pockets, on organisers. That can hang on the back of wardrobe/bedroom doors. etc.

Julie_D. You must be having the same problems as me! Thats exactly what my treatment is costing.
I don't work on the nash but there are only three charges they can make,£45.60 being one of them. The treatment you get for that charge could range from one small filling to 20 extractions, ten root canals and 12 fillings:eek:
Anyway, today OS wise, I have made a one pot dinner. Not much I know but baby steps!0 -
Similar to the peg bag idea, the offspring had gym bags made from a leg of their dad's jeans for PE shoes etc at school. I embroidered their name on first, cut a circle big enough to make a base for the bottom & used the thick [factory stitched] hem as the top to thread a cord through to pull up dolly-bag style.
I was going to add little embroided patches--like applique patches--but never did get round to it& one of them is now my current peg bag, with the other two stowed to take their turn when it comes

OK. I only cut the fringe. I go to the hairdressers very occasionaly to have the lenth cut and feel like a queen being pampered. I think the men of our house spend way more than me keeping their hair short.
Ds knows a hairdresser so gets his cut FREE.If winter comes, can spring be far behind?

Tidying up the kitchen I note the apple & blackcurrent squash bottle is empty so get the new one out of the cupboard. Eyes soon on the DOUBLE CONCENTRATED logo. Oh no I say (to myself) can' t have that! so promptly pour 1/2 into the old bottle and fill both up with water.
I bet we have all done this many times? If winter comes, can spring be far behind?
