with you all the way on those, fluffybunnies.
Flatten the rolls of toilet paper before putting on the holder - people can't just pull off yards and yards of loo roll then.
Shower Gel - squirt onto a 'shower scrubby' - a little bit goes a really long way when you do it like that :j.
Milk - water it down. If you use semi skimmed - buy the whole milk and divide it between two bottles, topping them both up with cold water. Similarly, if you use skimmed - buy semi-skimmed and do the same. Obviously I wouldn't do this with very young children who are depending on whole milk for their basic nutrition.
Veg peelings and trimmings - I save and freeze them for soup-making at a later date, when I've got quite a lot of them. Obviously you need to discard any bits that aren't very nice/damaged, but I find I can use most of them. Outer cabbage leaves get shredded used in my scouse; dark bits of leeks also go into my scouse or into mixed winter veg soup; carrot peelings go into anything at all; broccoli stalks/cauli leaves also go into almost anything I make.
Red lentils - a handful goes into most casserole/soups/stews/shepherd pies etc to bulk out the meat content.0 -
Loo roll - buy the cheapest Value toilet rolls. Expensive stuff can clog up old drains and after all, it all goes the same way.
Or you could stand at the toilet door handing it out square by square, italian style0 -
dishwasher tabs use 1/2 a tab and it does the job so they last twice as long.0

has anyone noticed the (small) notice near Tesco tills saying they will only accept coupons if you actually buy the product now?Being able to use coupons was the only reason I'd drive 12 miles to my nearest Tesco so now its all internet shopping for me!0

Hi Rosemary, I read this is because people started to buy all their shopping using coupons. ie £60 of shopping and £60 of coupons. Many got from the internet. If winter comes, can spring be far behind?
Spring begins on 21st March.0 -

as usual a few greedy people have spolit it for the rest of us:mad::mad::mad:just got a "book" of coupons with a magazine and don't think I will be able to use now.
have also noticed if you go to self serve tills you don't get the printed out Tesco coupons so on the odd occasion I do go to the store I will stick to manned tills as no incentive to "do it yourself"0 -
My best way to save money, is to save as many bones etc to make your own stocks/gravies etc (much cheaper) have a "on toast" night, and a soup and bread night every week ( very filling, and saving some pennies)
Ive stopped buying fresh veg, frozen all the way for us (cheaper, sits in the freezer, and doesnt go off)
Everything in this house is diluted to within an inch of its life, buy cheaper shampoo (but buy decent conditioner) Use about a tablespoon of washing powder (dont like tablets) one tablespoon of soda, and a few drops of essential oil (or if im feeling indulgent) one teaspoon of Lenor
Bits of string are reused, I use tupperware, rather than plastic bags to freeze things ( no need to keep buying more, just wash and go )Kent Bird!:beer:0
