I do this, and sometimes they end up on ebay or Amazon  . It does seem to only be the presents from my DH's family. I'm not ungrateful but it seems the gifts they get me are after thoughts, which makes me feel like they "have" to get me something. This year I got some big pink fluffy slippers in a size 7. I take a size 5 and never wear slippers  . I'd rather not get anything then get something I won't use or need.

We all make a list before Christmas, with a variety of items in terms of cost. It doesn't completely cut down the unwanted gifts but it helps. Mine also always includes a plea for no chocolates

I buy big bottles of cheap bubble bath (like 17p for a litre) and fill the carex soap dispenser up :) especially important now that my toddler is toilet training so washes her hands a lot.

I make up a jug of cordial and keep it in the fridge.. you wouldnt believe how much further the bottle goes when you do this!

I use cheap CHEAP (no picture on the bottle, just writing) washing liquid but nice smelling branded conditioner.

There are some things that I dont scrimp on and it makes the cheap !!! stuff more bearable and sustainable. Plus sometimes I think its false economy to buy certain things tbh. Butter, cola, sausages, mince, washing up liquid, bread, cordial, all have to be branded or quality proven.
Only two people away from a threesome :grouphug:

    The Rubber Lemon

Juice, for lemonade or dressing vegetables etc.

Then rind for flavouring cakes or custard.

Rindless shell, cut in half and rub bits around the base of kitchen tap and around sink to descale and degrease.

Then put leftover bits in dishwasher cutlery drawer for freshness.

    Voila 100% lemon used!
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

Well I don't think it's disgusting or offensive. Disposable sanitary towels weren't even available until just a few decades ago. Lots of people still use reusable sanitary protection of one kind or another - Keepers, Mooncups, cloth pads - and they're far more comfortable, environmentally friendly and economical than the disposable alternative.
