Hi Patchwork Quilt, I always save mine and roast pototoes, parsnips etc in it. Much better than putting down the drain!! If it`s been around too long put it out for the birds!

Gosh, I hope nobody puts fat down the drain - it'll end up costing a fortune when everything gets bunged up
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

Before you buy knitting patterns check out the sites that offer free patterns like this one LINK

They print out very easily and are shop bought quality :)

Giger as someone who has owned cats several times in my life I suspect this is mostly dogs. After all the very common occurance of eating cassettes only ever happens with dogs who for some reason resemble goats and eat any kind of garbage. I have yet to find out why this is.:confused: It has always baffled me why dogs eat this rubbish.

Yeah, my dog seems to think the cats litter tray is her own personal snack tray!:rotfl:

But, I have had a cat that used to try to eat elastic bands if she came across them. I had to be extra vigilant with her.

LOL!! My Dad & my youngest son do this too :D There's always some red elastic bands knocking around the house somewhere.

A little thing I do (not particularly money saving) is to be sure that every baked bean is out of the can. I've always had a thing about them being lonely & not fulfilling their beany destiny to be eaten if they're left in the can :rotfl: My dh finds this hysterical btw!

I'm sooooo glad it's not just me who feels this way :o :rotfl:

See, this never bothered me - until I read this. And then this morning, as I was putting some cannellini beans into the slow-cooker, and I was wandering towards the sink with the almost-empty can, and I looked into it and gazed at that one, lonely bean, and thought of it not fulfilling its beany destiny...and turned back to the slow-cooker and scraped the last bean into it.

Just what I needed - another thing to obsess about. Thanks for that...

    ;-)

I've made a bean soup today using three old tins of mixed beans forgotten in the cupboard...so had to make sure no beans were left behind in THREE tins!!! Thank you for that!

Hawthorn I do this too! I've been told the postie just throws them away as they are biodegradable. I just give them a quick wash and they have many uses around the house.

Our postie chucks them on our path!

It's ok the posties saying they are biodegradable but so are apples and you wouldn't want people chucking those all over the street!
