There's no bacteria in urine - it's sterile (unless of course in the case of a urinary infection). But if it gets rid of the smell then it's still useful.

That's true as the urine leaves the body, but bacteria will soon start to work on it if it's on a bed for even the shortest length of time ;)

  • My husband (a true [strike]miserly[/strike] careful, Yorkshireman) gets loads of mail from an insurance company - often up to a dozen at a time - all in different envelopes.

He has complained to the company several times about the waste of envelopes, paper etc and they have taken no notice.

In every envelope there is a franked return envelope, which he has now started to use to send mail to anyone he has dealings with, using a white label with the new name and address on

It worries me to death, that he's doing something illegal, but he says the insurance company charge him, in a roundabout way, for them so he'll use them as he sees fit :o :rotfl:
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

I posted this on another Thread, in another context, some while back.
It was more to do with stemming flow of unwanted bumf.
Someone came along and told me off-[ish], saying that such post was licensed out to x and etc.etc.blah.
    It didn't bother me.

According to Royal Mail, the company sending these items shouldn't be using them for return mail:

"It’s not possible to use a franked impression to prepay return items to your company, because of the time-sensitive nature of franking."
    http://www.royalmail.com/portal/rm/content1?catId=600024&mediaId=58000711

It's possible that the people your husband is sending the items to could be charged if there's no valid payment for postage on the envelope.

I'd be tempted to shove all the bumf they send back into one of their pre-paid envelops & send it back to them. There's also the Mailing Preference Service I can't do a link but they come up if you google them. HTH

There is a difference between a franked (or these days Smart Stamp) envelope and the pre paid reply envelope.
Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.

I think it was Bill Bryson who once said he enjoys tearing up those mailers 'inviting' people to apply for a credit card into tiny pieces and then mailing them back in their pre paid envelope.

My mums dog was gross when he was a pup and would poop and immediately turn round and eat it!!! _pale_

Thankfully he grew out of that but would eat cats and other dogs, for a while.

We checked with the vet and apparently, they see this as wasted protein!!!! Now I know that on this site we are all about avoiding waste, but I think dogs are taking it too far...... :rotfl:

If he was very hungry would he go for a whole dog or just a leg?! Only joking :rotfl: !!!!

Oops! As far as I know there have never been any complaints so perhaps I was wrong and they are pre-paid rather than franked (thanks Raksha).
