Sneaky ways to save the pennies

Regarding the returning of pre-paid envelopes. A friend of mine just stuffs one firm's mailings into other firm's envelopes and sends them all back. Perhaps be a good idea though to remove any prepaid name and address details - just in case!0

Hi consultant31 - don't worry, it's not illegal, but it can be a pain in the whatnot. Reply paid envelopes are paid for when they're received, not sent out though so the company sending them to him won't be affected.
Whoever he sends them to will have to pay postage plus an admin charge to the post office. It's just like if someone sends out a letter with no stamp, or when the letter's too heavy or big for the stamp on it. And it can mean the letter takes ages to get wherever it's going too.
The company I work for gets letters from time to time where customers have used reply paid envelopes from other companies. I wonder if any of these were from Mr consultant31
Agree it's a pity to waste all that paper, but might be just as well to stick a stamp on if it's going to anyone other than the company that sent them out.
Gosh I hope notThanks for telling me this - I shall stop him doing it any more.
I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
re: laddered tights
if your old laddered tights are just gonna go in the bin try using them for these first:-
kim and aggie use these (washed and clean of course) to use for cleaning your bathroom sink and bath - ive tried it and they work!! (with a little spray of watered down stardrops).
Also my dad who does decorating pinches old tights off my mum and uses them to strain paint - you know when you have half a tin of something and you always get blobs and stuff in it - well he drains the half pot through the tights (he saves empty tins to drain into) and then the paint is not wasted (or even worse applied to the wall with loads of blobs that dry on)!!Logic will get you from A to B but imagination can take you anywhere!
Being honest may not get get you a lot of friends - but it will get you the right ones.
Let your past make you better, not bitter.0 -
I am currently wearing 2 tight legs which have ladders in the leg. Don't worry, they are under trousers so they don't show! I have doubled the tops, of course, but that keeps my back warm. I used to cu up tights which were past their second life into small pieces for cushion stuffing!0

A charitable use for laddered tights ....

(hope I've done the link correctly)
As they are very light you can post quite a few for not a lot.0 -

That looks like a very good cause, thanks for the link
In the past I have always washed the laddered tights, chopped them into bits and used to stuff a draught excluder (often made from a couple of sleeves from a worn out sweatshirt).I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Apologies if this has already been posted somewhere else but I use chopped up old tights for plant ties. They are much better than string as they don't cut in or rub.
Also would like to thank the poster who let us know how good baby oil is for cleaning ground-in-grime. Brilliant:T0 -
A request for Old-Style ms on new-style toothpaste.
Had a lot of success with a Mr T DTD, grâce of H&B brochure error a while back and wonder what to do with the empty pumps.
Any ideas, please?CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Found it/them in Netto last week - bottle was 65p and has already proven much better AND using less , than washing-up liquid.
Had forgotten reading SO much about S on old Threads, so this sighting was a trigger - sfsg.
Suppose someone will come along saying 'I only pay Nought-y pence for mine!'
