Here are some bathroom things that I do that might come in handy for other people!
- Using one bath towel for each person (to last the week) saves money and time & effort on repeated wash loads and gathering up towels! [Women may want to have two towels!] I personally have a large bath sheet for body and a smaller one for hair. To avoid confusion between who is who's, each person can be allocated towels in a different colour from the rest or name labels can be put on each, if it helps. After use, each person's towel/s can then be folded and put on an upstairs radiator to dry until needed again.
- When going for a wee during the night(!), you don't need to turn on the mains light/s - you can use one of those little stick on battery operated lights instead. It can be stuck onto the wall or placed on top of the toilet cistern so that people can find it easily in the dark (sold in pound shops, B&M, Wilkinsons, Ikea etc). The light not only saves elec, but it is less bright and helps you to not wake up too much, when sleepy!
- Having a shower or bath during daylight hours means no need to turn the bathroom light/s on.
- After dark, if someone is going to be in the bathroom for a while, it pays to turn off the hall (and bedroom) light/s until they come out (unless there are other people in those rooms, of course)!
- After washing hair, rubbing it vigorously with a towel saves on hair dryer costs (and time).
- Wrapping up hair in a towel and leaving on for a few minutes also saves hair dryer use.
- Switching off the hairdryer when the hair is almost dry saves a couple of minutes elec each time.
- Try to have a shower instead of a bath as this uses less water (and therefore less gas/elec - and water meter costs).
- Putting on the radio whilst in the shower (music station) - [most songs last approx 3 minutes], helps to easily gauge how quick you can be! I've got my shower time down to about 4 mins so far!
- Turning down the hot water thermostat means lower heating costs.
- Turning down the shower stream to a lower speed also uses less hot water.
- Filling the bath an inch or two below its usual level uses less hot water. It also means less bath foam/bombs are needed!
- Adding more cold water and using less hot means a slightly cooler bath and saves hot water.

i buy whole milk and when nobody is looking the milk gets a good glug of water from the tap to eek it out a little further. neither my son or my oh have twigged that i do this yet, i reckon this has saved me a small fortune over the years because both of them eat huge bowls of cereal everyday and sometimes they eat 2 bowls each, i certainly notice the difference doing my shopping monthly as i don`t buy nearly as much milk as i used to :j0

You do if you live in my house!
The toilet is one floor below the bedroom and there is no door, or landing, between the bedroom and the stairs. To make it worse the stairs curve, so the top three stairs are triangle shaped. They are only two inches wide at the left side, so you have to "step out" with your right foot first, and if you are too far to the left of the doorway then the stair isn't wide enough for your foot. You slide down the stairs with your right leg stretched out in front of you, and your left leg dragging behind, with the delicate bits in between bouncing off every step!
