make your own playdough,I have a really easy 2 minute recipe, playdough is soooooo expensive & the stuff I have made is lovely I keep it in the fridge.my 2 youngest DS love it.
another version is saltdough, for making little models letting them dry & painting with poster paint mixed with equal parts pva glue.
    .

Would you mind sharing the recipe's please?
My kids would love that as well.

This might help we use to use this one when we went to toddler group...Fells like a long time ago now:o

    1 cup of plain flour
    1/2 cup of salt
    1 cup of water
    1 tablespoon of water
1 1 1/2 teaspoons of cream of tartar
tip it all into a saucepan and mix over a low heat, doesn`t need long. Dough ready when you can roll in easily into a ball
If you like different colours add food colouring when heating in the saucepan
The Grass may look greener :o but it`s always going to take just as much mowing ;)

    with pleasure :D

this recipe is no cook, easy peasy, the measurments are cups,my glass jug from the 99p shop has cups on the side, but I think any cup will do.

    half cup salt
    1 cup plain flour
    1tablespoon cream of tar tar
1 tablespoon oil(you can use any I use baby oil)
1 cup of boiling water from kettle with drop of food colouring of your choice
half teaspoon vanilla essence(not needed but makes it smell yummy)

put dry ingredients in a bowl.add water mix well, when forms into dough will be cool enough to to knead for a bit, kids love this bit, then hey presto, playdough.
mine was sooooo soft & silky at first,I keep it in tubs in the fridge & its going more firmer its miles & miles better than anything I've ever paid good money for & it smells great.

    home made rules!!!
for the saltdough, you will only need salt flour & water.

Hi Beachbuffy, My son too! Some trousers come with a little spare square of fabric, funny how the girls trousers don`t  I use these with Supermend, it`s like white powder, use instead of sewing. I bought mine from Kleeneze rep about 15 years ago and still have nearly all of it left.Fantastic for hems and all sorts. Helps if your not very good with a needle and thread!!

I have some fabric glue that I used to hem my curtains 50p whoopsie in asda.the wonder web only take 2 minutes as Im ironing them anyway ;)
something I also do is over the winter any non school trousers that they go through the kness or outgrow in the leg get cut off into shorts for summer,I think boys look cute in cut off jeans.I never hem them either.
I only have boys & they are really hard on trousers & shoes!

Fabric glue sounds great and possibly better than the powder. As for the trousers used to be able to cut off too but my boys are now coming up to 13 and 17 and are now more fussy!! So I stalk Ebay and Charity shops now for bargains for them!!

  • I sell anything I can get my hands on ...Within reason... During the run up to Xmas and Birthdays...Lots of things come to light when mucking out their rooms! Store it up in Paypal and then shop for their presents. That way it feels like neutral shopping and doesn`t hurt sooo much. :o

the glue is messy but has held up the hem on curtains.
I have never seen the powder but Im sure it works in much the same way as wonder web,the iron melts it?
I stay well away from kleneeze & betterware but I love charity shops,my oldest is wearing mens clothes & he's not label fussy(proud mum:D )
and having all boys is just perfect for hand me downs.
