I think by changing the prices 3 times she has more than messed you around. Don't blame you for changing caterer. And if the original caterer can't return your phonecalls then cancelling by email was your only option.... Had you paid a deposit?

I agree with Krystal - a quote is a quote - she should have made everything clear about what affect your choices would have had on the price at the outset.

I've already paid the venue £400. They then pay the caterer. I phoned them today and the lady I'd been dealing with wasn't there, but the bloke said that he doesn't think she would have paid the caterer yet because there wasn't a final price. I tried ringing the caterer again today out of courtesy to tell her. There was no answer so I left a message. After 2 phone messages and 2 emails I think that's plenty so I'm not ringing her anymore.

I'm meeting the new caterer tonight as she wants to see seating plans and to see where I want everything. The first caterer never did this, she just said she would ring me in the middle of next month which would be about 2 weeks before the wedding! I'm really pleased I rang round because I've saved £150 on the catering, plus I don't have to buy a cake for dessert as it's included, and I'm getting extra courses!

I collected my dress today. I think it needs dry cleaning a wekk or so before the wedding just to get the little creases out where the train hangs up. I also have a dog so the dress is upstairs out of the way and on the day I'm putting it on at the last possible minute!

    What a bonus pinkpig!

I felt a bit like that when I rang round and managed to save £125 on the disco which covered most of the car that OH insisted we have.

managed to save £140 on the first quote I got by using an executive car plus ribbons rather than a "wedding" car.

Am beginning to hate the W word - just adds money to everything - only place it has saved me anything was when I had a makeup trial and I got extra freebies - maybe she just thought I needed all the help I could get :rotfl:

i thought of you when I posted it :p
the only thing burying your head in the sand will do is mess your hair up.
I got in touch with photographer yesterday just to check he was still coming - not that OH would be bothered :rotfl:
I still need to go back to the venue but think that will make it all too scarily real

7 weeks and I'll be on the plane ;) and most of the stress will be over. Will only relax when my suitcase comes off that carousel. Took 3 cases to the Dominican Republic 2 years ago and none of them turned up for 8 hours  could have been worse one of the other missing bags belonged to a bride and it had her dress in it!!!

And that is why I always carry clean underwear and a toothbrush in my hand luggage...

Incidentally, what is it with men and cars? It was my OH who insisted we had a 'proper' car too... I would of been happy to put a sheet down in the back of my Dad's transit van...

I had a dream last night that I was practising walking down the aisle and everyone was walking too fast, so I started sulking telling them they're not supposed to run!

Oh dear, I didn't expect nightmares when there's still 6 weeks! Oh my god! 6 weeks! I haven't really been giving it a second thought until now when I've fetched my dress, spoke to the caterer etc.

Regarding the caterer, I met the new one last night after cancelling the original one because of the price. She's even lending me a cake stand for free too! She's picking everything up from my house a week before - cake, placecards, favour boxes etc - and setting everything up for me. She's fab and I'm really glad I found her! Hairdresser is coming for a practice next Thursday. She's told me to wash my hair the day before so it's not too soft. The only problem is I have to wash mine everyday otherwise it gets greasy. Think I'll have to do it the night before, then it might last.

What's everyone doing for their hen night? We're going in a limo, then out for a chinese. OH hasn't sorted anything out yet.

Hope everyones' fittings and last mniute preps are going well.
