    Heya lovelies.

I was very hyper and felt like I could do anything last night....for 30 minutes. Then I came crashing down. :/ I hate it when that happens. I know it's my BPD but it drains the life out of me. There can never be any in between can there? I always have to be very hyper or very low. It's like my thinking - it's either black or white. There is no grey areas.

    I feel so stupid. :(

    xx
I know what you mean - you feel you can take on the world then you can't cope. What I hate is the feeling of letting people down you promise things to and feeling such a fool when I have to spend the day in bed after a good day:(

Remember we are all doing the best we can.
    An average day in my life:hello: :eek::mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T :o :rotfl: :rotfl: :p :eek::mad: :beer:

I can't take the stress of my life.
I just want to work for 7.5hrs and be left alone.
But I'm leaving the house at 7am and getting back at 7:30pm and have a bloody exam hanging over me.
So I don't do the revision and sit here wallowing in the guilt.
    What a great life....

Exactly. I feel like I let people down now because I can't promise anything. One of my friends keeps asking if I want to meet her, say on Tuesday or something, and I can't because I don't know how I'm going to be feeling then. I don't know whether I'm going to be able to go out until the day, and then I feel guilty for cancelling on her.:(

Hi everyone, lots of candy floss for everyone-I can't believe you've never tried it tangled memories! Your local speak confused me until I said it outloud to myself ILGD, made me laugh :rotfl:

As for the new car, its a 3 year old Peugeot 206, nothing too flashy, but I've been unimpressed with my car ever since OH bought a brand new one last month. Its the next best thing because I can't afford anything that flash!

    Hi fg!:hello:
    How are you hun?
As you can see, I've grouped your posts together fg, to make it easier to reply. Lets have a look hun...

Forgive the personal question angel, but can you comfortably afford a private psych? The reason I ask is that you can actually change the NHS psych you've got, if you don't feel any benefit from them. Write a letter to the consultant's manager and the Trust's Practice Director/Manager, stating that you feel that your sessions with DR.X are detrimental to your mental ill health recovery and that you would ask to be transferred to another NHS psych. This works - I've done it - and it's made an enormous difference to me! As with anything else, you have the right to complain if you're not happy with your treatment - even in mental health fields. Also, is she a psychiatrist or a psychologist,fg?
I popped down to the Tiff archives and found some hopefully useful info for you, hun. I found the following from the Royal College Of Psychiatrists website...

    http://www.rcpsych.ac.uk/mentalhealthinformation/faqs/howtogethelp.aspx
    and
    http://www.rcpsych.ac.uk/mentalhealthinformation/therapies/cognitivebehaviouraltherapy.aspx
How can I see a psychiatrist?
To see a psychiatrist, you will need to visit a GP (general practitioner) in order to get a referral, in the same way you would with any other specialist.

Can you give me a list of psychiatrists?
In order to find a psychiatrist, you should ask your GP or local healthcare trust. You can obtain lists of nearby doctors' surgeries and your local healthcare trusts by contacting the NHS.
How can I see a psychiatrist privately?
Your GP may hold a list of psychiatrists who practice privately. Alternatively, you can contact private healthcare providers or psychiatric clinics directly to make an appointment. Some psychiatrists may advertise themselves in your local yellow pages. If they have the title 'MRCPsych' (Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists) or FRCPsych (Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists), this means that they are current members of the College.
How can I find out what speciality a psychiatrist is trained in?
You can search for their details on the Medical Register (a directory of all doctors practicing in the UK), by visiting the General Medical Council website.

What do I do if I am unhappy with my psychiatrist?
Everyone is entitled to a second opinion, so you need to ask your GP, or your psychiatrist, to refer you to another psychiatrist for a second opinion.

From BABCP (British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies) at
    http://www.babcp.com/
    How to get help?
First step - Discuss the problem with your doctor. They will be able to advise you on access to local resources and refer you on if appropriate.

    Where to get CBT?
Many CBT practitioners work in the NHS. (Thought so - I got it!confused-smiley-013.gif) However, some areas still have limited resources. Also, some practitioners provide CBT privately. You can find a BABCP accredited therapist who works privately by clicking this link. Please note that other practitioners offering CBT may be registered by other reputable bodies.
There is even a search link on this site for finding private psychiatrists and their specialities.

I can appreciate you thinking that the yellow pages as lita suggested, may not be the best route for you. Personally, I'd rather consult my gp and find one whose methods and reputation are known to your gp, who also knows you. But that's just me, angel.wink.gif There's nothing wrong with asking for a second opinion fg but you also have to be receptive to the feedback the doctors give us. If you disagree, discuss it with them. And of course, the MIND website is usually worth a visit hun, at
    http://www.mind.org.uk/Information/

I hope this helps a little fg - safe journeys.sLo_hug2.gif
    Much Love,
    Tiff xxx

Thanks for the reply Tiff. To be honest, I don't think I'll bother getting a second opinion - my area cannot give CBT or Pyschotherapy, so another pyschaitrist isn't going to be able to refer me either, so no point kicking up a fuss.

OH can afford a private pysch and therapy for me, but he'd rather not (doesn't see the benefit of talking therapies).

I'll stick with my pysch, hopefully she'll change my meds, and it'll be 5th time lucky!

I think I've just got to accept that whatever is wrong with me isn't something treatable and is more likely just me being a poor communicator and having poor coping skills.

I was in a good mood earlier but my OH has pssed me off. I felt close to him last night and earlier but now I feel disconnected again and it is really depressing me.

When I talk to him, he either interrupts or seems somewhere else or I have repeat myself 10 times before I get a response. I feel I am married to a distant dummy. I am getting fed up with it. He gets all upset, by ranting and loudly crying when It tell him I am fed up with it or being sickly sweet in my face when I feel low.

I am sick of his offending behaviour and his offensive reaction when I tell him about it - he says he cares but I can't see any evidence of it and it brings me down. I feel ignored and devalued by it. I keep telling him but it is a waste of time.

It seems like we always have to have a negative drama. Even our day out yesterday was shadowed by him ringing our son and him telling us about his condition. It never feels like we have a day off, all work or horrible emotional dramas. I feel tired all the time with it and feel physically low with it. A bit of tooth broke off this afternoon and I have a sore gum.

I can't work out if he is messing about with me or stupid. Either are affecting the marriage and making me want to live alone. I married for companionship not this sh*te
