Has anyone else here tried the oil cleansing method for oily skin? I started a thread about my oily skin and how I can treat it and someone suggested it. I've researched it and it looks quite promising.
I'll do anything to get rid of this permanent shine on my face. :rotfl:

ladym....ive been same all my life.had terrible acne for years.had a course of retinol stuff from consultant which did trick.had to sign lots of forms as you cant get pregnant while you are taking it, loads of side effects which i didnt get, thank god......but realy good stuff.
anyway.....i got some free samples from comp called DHC.one was called olive virgin oil , intensive mouisturer.i thought it wouldnt work cos thats the last thing i wanted to put on my skin ....but it did.the thing with oily skin is that the more you try to strip the oil away and keep doing it.......the more your skin thinks that theres a shortage so produces more and more to counteract.i found those bloting papers good for soaking up the oil.
the good thing about oily skin is that you will get fewer wrinkles later in life.which doesnt help you now cos youre a young un....but you will be really grateful when you hit forty, trhst me!!!:)

    Thanks hun. :)

My skin is very sensitive too but the oilyness gets me down more than anything. I'm surprised people don't stop me in the street and use it as a mirror. :rotfl:

I might try the oil cleansing method and then failing that I'll talk to my doctor. I used to have really bad acne when I was about 14. I was prescribed Benzyl Peroxide and that made my skin flare up twice as bad.lol. I acquired the nickname "tomato face" because of that.lol. Thankfully by age 16 the acne had calmed down and now I only get occasional sports and not full blown acne like before.I do have pock marks though on my cheeks, which is where my acne used to be really bad but I never picked my spots so I'm not sure why.

I really want to start using foundation too but I think I'll try and get rid of this excess oil first. :rotfl:

lm...the mineral powder foundations are really good cos they give good coverage as well as soaking up the oil.
might be worth asking dr to refer you to a dermatologist.it will ease your mind and they could give you tips and meds to help.worth a try.

    Hi tyler hun!:hello:
Bless you hunnie - you're welcome.sLo_hug2.gif Sterling advice from our lovely sazzy and ilgd, amongst others too.:Aaction-smiley-033.gif

A very recently learned lesson from me has shown me that sometimes you have to look after yourself as much as you do others. It was really brave of you to post and I hope you know that we all felt for you both.
I'm so happy that you did break down hunnie in a way- because now sam knows you are hurting too and she knows she loves you.
You're both in a world of pain and I'm so glad that the most important thing of all has happened and so naturally too...that you are communicating again and not shutting each other out. Take it slowly angel, don't take on all the stress yourself and don't blame yourself either.
Keep us posted hun - maybe tomorrow I'll go down into the Tiff archives and see what I can find. I'm really happy for you both!
    Be kind to yourselves guys.sLo_hug2.gif
    Much Love,

Thanks ilgd. I'll look into it. :) The roots of my hair are really greasy too so I need to sort that out also.lol.

Do you have any good shampoo and conditioner you can recommend? .lol. I used to get terrible dandruff but ever since I had my hair cut it's cleared up.=/

Did it make your skin burn too? It was horrible. I had the gel and it really made my skin flaky, red and sore. I'll never ever use that again. :rotfl:
