I hope you have a somewhat relaxing time off of work. I think the setting yourself tasks and writing down your feelings is great.
I wish I could make greeting cards. Are they fiddly to do? I'm more of photography and digital art girl.
I hope you have a nice holiday.
xx
Making cards is a bit addictive, although having said that I've had creative block lately! I started about 5 years ago and love it. Its cost me far more to get the equipment and stock together to make the cards than I ever thought but as I say its addictive and at least it keeps me busy and my mind occupied.
I'm looking forward to my holiday so much, can't wait. OH wants me to go the Wii Fit now - keeps on at me (I'm on a diet!!!) says exercise helps stress and depression. Well I know that but at the moment I've not got any motivation to do anything other than sleep!

Quote: Tiff gem - for some reason, you've been strongly been on my mind this weekend - don't worry, I'm not trying to borrow any money.
It's lovely to see yet another of the old faithful around and you've always been such a sweetheart to people here.
Look after yourself angel.
Tiff that is so strange,i had a really bad weekend, have been struggling for a while but it was the worst i have felt for a long while.I do feel a little better tonight though. This forum is a great help,to know you are not the only one with problems.Like a lot of people i find it hard to take my own advice but i have decided if i feel like that again i will go see my gp.I have managed without meds for about three years now but i think the menapause may be making me worse0 -

A few of my friends make greeting cards and sell them at craft fairs. They say that it is addictive too.
Where are you going on holiday? Once I get better I'm planning to go to Butlins. It's my favourite place to be.
I'm planning on getting Wii Fit, but first I need to get a Wii. :rotfl: Is it good? I really want to tone up so have just purchased a dance mat for my dance games, but Wii Fit is supposed to be excellent.
I understand about the motivation thing. I lack it a lot of the time. Sometimes I can't be bothered to even get up to make a cuppa (as lazy as that sounds but when depression hits...it hits big time)
I'm Anni btw.

Okay, I have checked my piggy bank (or in my case cash tin :rotfl:) and I have saved up £50 to treat myself with. My question: How do I treat myself with it? Do I go on a charity shop spree (always a bargain hunter, me.lol.) or get a nice dress? Maybe use it to get my hair cut (although I have the money for that in my bank)? Maybe get my nails done (or lack of nails as I am a nervous nail biter)? I don't know. It has taken me a few months to save it up so I don't want to squander it on something I'm never going to use.lol.

Welcome Tibbies mum
How r u feeling?
firstly well done for posting, i hope you will feel able to talk more, we are all a good family here, and your welcome anytime.
Have you seen a gp? are you on medication?
Maybe you could set yourself targets, and give yourself a treat at the end.
Eg: take sons out for a walk.....have an ice cream, coz there yummy?
We all experience depression in different ways, and also cope in different ways
I hope you can talk more about how you feel.
Take care
xx
Many thanks for your reply and warm welcome.
I am under the GP and am suppose to be on medication, but I tend not to take it. It's not because I don't like being on them, it's more of a punishment as I don't think I deserve to get better, which is actually more unfair on my family than myself.
I do set goals, baby step ones, as that's all I can cope with. Unfortunately my OH first knew me when I was in a responsible job, in fact, I was his boss and was quite dynamic back then. So, although he is wonderful, he finds it difficult to understand me now, so he doesn't appreciate my baby step achievements.
However, I did have quite a good day. All my kids got fed, managed to walk to school to collect my eldest and a small amount of clutter has been cleared from the kitchen floor, so yay me :j0 -

Well hopefully you will get your free haircut with herbal essences. You can buy the dress from peacocks and If you have a primark, have a look in there as they have some nice bits. Its always worth popping into a chairty shop coz you never know what bargain you will find.I love chairty shops lol.xx
WElcome tibbysmum, glad your day has been ok and better I hope. I feel how you do most times, except I have one child and have no man apart from my son lol but he is 6, going on 16.Bless him he is so good, has his moments like any kid but he is so loving and keeps me going.
It takes time, eventually you will find your feet again-goodluck x0 -

Thanks for reminding me about the hair cut. I forget things easily nowadays. :rotfl:
The closest Primark is in Stevenage I think, which is 30-odd miles away. Closest Peacocks is 10 miles away. That's why I do most of my shopping online.lol.
We have an M&Co here though and the teenage section in there is quite generous with the fit and everything so I might have a look in there tomorrow or Thursday. We have a New Look too, and a Dorothy Perkins. We used to have a great shop called Basement. The prices were great in there, but it closed down.A lot of shops here seem to be closing down lately. I don't think the independent stores really do a lot of trade in this town.lol.
Just remembered that I need to pick up my prescription too. =/
Has anyone here ever used Bio Oil to reduce the appearance of scars? I never realized that mine are so bad before and I don't want to spend all summer covered up because I'm ashamed of them.Is it any good?
