Hi all - hope you are having a good one!!

I have been very very naughty. I went to the post office to send my brother's birthday present (done very MSE - a card from a box of hand made cards I was given as a gift and a present bought with my piggypoints John Lewis vouchers), however I decided to 'pop' into the butcher opposite......a Real Meat Company butcher.............   ........I only ever let myself go in there about once a year as the prices are on the extortionate side of expensive, but I had a 'kid in a sweet shop' moment and got a bit carried away  ........you know when they have designer clothing shops on TV and there are no prices on the clothes and you know that if you have to ask then you can't afford???? As the butcher was boning some chicken for me, I suddenly realised - there were no prices on anything in the fresh meat section................gulp.........I'm too ashamed to say how much I spent, but I hope the sudden loss of colour to my face wasn't too evident............:o............

  • Hey, it will be worth it. Good food is never wasted we all do stuff like that. Every time i go to the butchers, they weigh stuff and then say, "slightly over is that ok?" I used to say," Yes, that's ok," but not anymore-surprising the little techniques used to bump your bill up.

I'm just awake... sorry all you early birds!

I'm gonna hop in the shower in a mo and get some washing on the go. The weather here lots grotty but the wind is up and washing should take no time at all to dry outside.

Am popping into town later to meet a friend for a coffee and buy a folder, but that's all I will buy and will use the free bus pass to get in and out of town.

My best friend is getting married in May and I am the 'best-person' so may have a mooch around the shops for a suitable outfit for as cheap as possible, as well as sourcing a hairdresser in Rye for having my hair done on the morning of the wedding - any recommendations anyone?

Hope everyone has a pleasant day

I'm having a cheap day today - been along to the grocers to get some apples and strawberries, the papers and now about to settle down to watch Rangers v Celtic on Setanta. Perfect day!

May ruin it by deciding to decorate later though.

I've wrapped 3 ebay and 2 amazon parcels and sent H off to the post office to post those and listed another 3 items on amazon. However that may be the ending of my saving money part of the day.

I'm off to get my hair highlighted and cut, it's been three months since I last had it done and I'm starting to look a right mess.

Will pop over to tescos and buy the essentials for next week, but will not buy any meat as we have a bit in the freezer and have lots of beans and pulses that can be used during the week.

We had a take away last night, but as always the portions are so big that I'm going to use the left over sauce as a base for a fish curry tonight and use the onions they sent randomly to got in the curry and serve up the extra portion of rice they sent to us.

Have been very busy this morning, done 2 hours for business, trying to catch up a bit. 2 loads of washing now blowing on line. Done dishes from last night. Hoovered downstairs wrote meal plan for month and done my Asda online grocery shop.

OH and boys want to go to a town to get some new clothes as pay went in yesterday and they are down to one pair of trainers each. Will have lunch before we go though or the Chinese Buffet will be too tempting to walk past.

Just having a cup of tea before I get my war paint on and straighten my hair.
But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.

At least the chickens were marked up - I almost bought one but at £20 each I didn't......

I was good with the cuts I bought - belly pork, chicken legs, beef skirt and a couple of packs of sausages and some bacon bits (which would have been expensive)............... but the duck breasts I bought as a treat were the killer items..........

oh well, they were all extra happy chickens, ducks, pigs and cows apparently...........
