how on earth can quidco offer such high cashbacks? i fear it is just another slush around firm - paying initial commissions from accumulating incomes, mainly the first £5 of credit that they withhold? also reading the t*c's, there is no guarantee/indication when their commision gets paid, and therefore your cashbacks, AND its all tracked by 3rd parties so QC (and you) have no say / control over what you get, anyway?

this may be totally unfounded, and i apologise if so.

Have a read of this article from Martin.
It will tell you all you need to know about cashback sites.

As soon as cashback is mentioned, Quidco gets plastered around the place, but there are other cashback sites which are just as good, if not better.

From the link above you can use the Cashback Maximiser which will help identify which cashback site pays out the most for the retailer in question.

Further questions on cashback sites can be discussed here, so we keep this thread on topic with identifying the clearance items.

Well, Tesco have done it again! Went online, followed all instructions on this thread, ordered camera and arranged to collect from Galsgow Silverburn as my hubby works near there, so saved postage. Got discounts and everything. Yesterday they phoned to say camera was in store ready for us to collect. So he went along just now to collect it. Opened box before leaving store just to check everything was Ok & box contained an ipod, so he went back to them & handed it over asking for his camera, to which they replied there had been an error, refunded his credit card for the exact amount we paid without his permission and declared that the camera is now out of stock at Tesco Direct! They had the camera sitting on the shelf in the store but we can't have one of those because Tesco Direct & Tesco Stores are seperate. They have agreed to honour the discount price if/when the item comes back into stock at Tesco Direct, but that is not sounding very hopeful. They said the refund to our card will take 3 - 5 days which also seems a bit unfair. We tried phoning the tesco direct customer helpline but they said there was nothing they could do & don't know if item will come back into stock. We are pretty fed up. Any suggestions?

I had the wrong shower delivered ordered the 10.5 and got the 9.5 version there wasn't a great deal of difference in the price as 75% was off both of them but quite a bit of difference in there specs. They can't relace as they have no 10.5kw ones left, won't replace with another 10.5kw model and won't refund the couple of £ difference in the price. Basically told to return for refund or lump it with an inferior model for the price of the dearer one. Was also told lies on the phone 3 days running.

Hi there, I just wondered which trampette you ordered because I too ordered a trampette with 50% yesterday via Tesco Direct and it arrived this morning (foldable one). My two daughters were really exited trying to put it together and I could see them strugglying so I gave them a hand!!! One hour later and very stressed and fed up I gave up - it was impossible to straigthen it once the clips were in. Telephoned the helpline on the instructions and was told that they get loads of calls about this and that it took two men to stand on it and sort it out and so if I thought I could fold it away to store it easily then I would be disappointed!!! I have now decided to give up with it as nowhere to store it made up (if I can ever put it together) but am worried as to how I can return it too. I don't drive and it is heavy and my nearest Extra store is a few miles away.
Hope yours is ok and and wonder if anyone knows how I can return it (easily and cheaply) as this is my first order with Direct (luckily most of the rest of my order is fine and a good bargain!!)
    TIA
I had the same problem but did manage to force it open. The other problem is the padding its a nightmare to stretch around the trampette and deffinitly not something you could do every use. If I'd known you couldn't fold it for storage I'd have got the cheeper one. I also got a wind up radio/torch which i will be taking back as its rubbish.

forgot to mention that when they refunded the money to the card they then said we couldn't have the other items in our order, although they were there and had been handed over to us! This is becuase they had refunded the full amount. A bit ripe considering we could have just walked out of the store with an IPod worth 3 times the value of the camera, but didn't because we assumed the camera was there & they had handed over the wrong package.

Its about time trading standards or whoever looked into this refund scam. They all manage to take the money quick enough but always it takes like you have said, 3-5 days. Its a con and needs sorting.
Its like banks with cheques, pay one in and its almost a week to clear, issue one and its next to no time before its cashed.

Its frustrating knowing you could have got one over them by walking away with something worth 3 times more than what you ordered but didnt. I bet you wont do that again!

    This gets worse

eceived this email from Tesco which means they only refunded the cost of the camera and didn't give us the other goods, so now I have to phone them again in the morning & have a long arguement with them. don't think we will be using tesco direct again.

We are sorry for any problems with your Tesco Direct order and just want to let you know that we have now processed a refund as detailed below:

    Refund Details:

    1 x Olympus 2GB xD Picture Card Type M
    £0

1 x Olympus MJU 790 Silver Digital Camera
    £84.98

    Your total refund is:

    £84.98

Tesco direct are rubbish, although i received everything i ordered 1 box had a hole in each side and a big rip on the top, inside the plastic bag was torn and the screws etc were rolling about the bottom of the box and i have no idea if there are any missing. The 2 canvas pictures i ordered both had rips and dents in the boxes and inside both of them are dented. Obviously all are now sold out so there is no chance of replacements  Total waste of time.
