Question MRS Cashback and Pru Health Cover

Ohkay, I have probably posted this in the wrong place but here go's

I had an email from MRS Cashback saying I will get £140 Cashback AND a £100 Gift Voucher for buying Health Insurance from the Pru, Is this right, I got a quote and it was £20 a month, so how can the company afford to pay out £240+ when all I am going to do is cancel it. I read through and I couldnt see any 12 month contract so hopefully all goes well

Im new to these cashback sites but looking at the offer, I couldn't refuse!

Anyone had any experience with MRS Cashback or this offer?

Thanks

Kev

Have just looked at the new version of the article - much better in my opinion. Well done MSE team for revisiting and revising this one.

Great article.

I am a member of Quidco. Topcashback and Rpoints plus a couple others (Pigsback, Mutualpoints etc).

One thing Martin missed out is that Rpoints also offer a Highest Cashback Promise so you can get exactly the same cashback (over 20p - 20 points) that Quidco an some of the others offer.

The tracking should be the same for all of them but I tend to get less problems through Rpoints

In my latest e-mail from MSE, Quidco are heavily promoted, I have tried everything possible to obtain cashback from them since January-they ignore all my e-mails, I have followed every suggestion made my other posters to no avail.

As MSE feels that they are a good company, will they take up my case or am I to stay feeling totally ripped off?

Full marks for reviewing and updating the article Martin.

Whilst most forum users may be aware of sites like Quidco there may be many people getting the email discovering this for the first time. I hope the cashback sites can take the extra volume .

Some people take a bit of convincing (that you can make money for free or be paid more in cashback than an insurance policy costs) but this article should give extra credibility as well as visibility.

Where I work everyone in my team is now a fully-fledged quidco member and most have over £100 already.

Have a look / post here : http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/...45938&page=174

"quidco" are a user/member of MSE so you could try pm-ing them. enquiry@quidco.com also works if you don't trust the "contact us" form.

I also find them very slow for answering emails though they quote quicker turnaround times and improvements recently.

Companies do it because (a) They area bit stupid and (b) They rely on apathy and assume, rather optimistically, you will remain with them for a long time.

There may well be no 12 month contract but to sign up and cancel could easily be judged as abuse. Certainly if you tried this at quidco you may well soon find your account closed.

I'm all for exploiting companies' "generosity" but this course of action will, and has resulted in merchants withdrawing from cashback sites thus meaning NOBODY has the chance to get cashback. There are plenty of easy ways to get some decent money without this tactic.

I signed up with greasy palm in Feb 06. My first purchase from Currys promised 1.75% Cashback, in fact i received 0.03% equal to 5p. When i emailed asking about this they took the cashback i had received off me, reimbursing me a month later. They didn tgive me what was advertised, just the 5p they d taken off me. I haven t used the site again until this years national and am still waiting for this cashback of a promised £22.50. I will certainly NOT be holding my breath. I would say avoid this site, try some of the others, i know im going to.

I am new to this cashback site stuff. Is there any problem with security as a lot of them say you have to have add blockers turned off and things like that. Also does anybody know how long it takes Rpoints to correct you country of origin when they get it wrong? I hope this is the right place for this type of question.
Thanks

Default Cashback websites - made 8pence!

Hello

Just wanted to say thank-you for the brill article on cashback websites. Was very suspicious of them until now. Logged on to one and made 8 pence - absolutely amazed. About to do car insurance and now going through one of these sites will make extra 40 quid.

Thanks-you

Default quidco cashback

Dear members

There is a quidco cashback of £30 for ordering a new phone through The Mobile Outlet through quidco site's link.

My question is if I use that link from my quidco account (which is in my name) to order a phone from my wife (including my wife's bank/ card details for the new phone), would I still be entitled for quidco cashback?

Or would I need to open another quidco account for my wife and order through her account? The thing is I would lose first £5 from her account as well here and there isn't anything else that I think she would order for the rest of year from her account.

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Cheers
Kunal

Default Greasy Palm missing cashback

Hi all, I'm new to this game so I apologise if I have posted in the wrong place. I have used Greasy Palm on a number of occasions and twice now they have not paid out saying the retailer had no record of the transaction, (yes the transaction tracking was working). Has anyone else experienced this problem with them? Specifically with £50 cash back from Direct Line home insurance (if the policy was bought before the end of May 07).
Thanks Delboy

No you should be able to go through quidco and enter different bank details and names - I have done it for several things and they have all tracked and paid out - only thing I do conciously do is , if it asks for an e mail address for confirmation etc - add the one that is registered to quidco

Default voucher codes w/ cashback

what have others' experiences of using a cashback site to access an online retailer AND THEN entering a voucher code? I did it once with john lewis - code worked but was refused cashback from Quidco. Is it best to just accept the higher of the 2 discounts and leave it at that?

Does anyone use firefox for cashback daily clicks? I've been using opera and have found it does not track shopping.com or dealtime at all and strangely only 2 high street webs a day on whatever site I choose but only 2. Yet if I use IE7 it tracks ok. Its just I prefer a separate browser for safer use of saving passwords and IE is the main browser and I don't want to save passwords on that.

I just wondered if there were any problems with firefox before I download it?

Thanx
