No offence but I'll say it before someone else does :)

Did you not agree to the T&C's of having and using the account?

If you don't agree with them find another bank ;)

This is why the 'unfair terms in consumer contract' regulations 1999 are in existence.

Regardless of what you think, you cannot change the LAW. (as several people have previously explained to you when you have posted ridiculous messages previously)

I do not want to change the law, I think it is great as it is! And i have not posted "ridiculous messages", they were simply my opinion. I think that the OP shouldn't write cheque that he cant honour, and if he sticks to that, maybe he wouldn't get charged.

I think that the charges are fair.

catalonia13 was asking for advice on writing a letter to the bank - she wasn't asking for your unhelpful opinion.

And I helped her by saying that it was totally her own fault and deservers to be charged...or maybe she thought it was the banks fault. :D

Well, all I can say is that the validity of your 'opinions' is currently being (VERY briefly) discussed on the 'Credit Cards' board.

Also, anyone can easily see the type of person you are by having a look at your previous posts.

OK well I signed up for a Vanquis CC at 59.9% - shall I challange that.

I signed up in full knowledge of the APR also the fees and charges so if I break them then it's my fault. Period. Why challange something you agree too!

If I don't agree with them then I simply don't apply and or use the card.

The terms are not unfair as you aren't backed into a corner or blind alley and or no get out - you agree to the charges at sign-up - they aren't hidden, they are quite clear!

    Kind regards

I understand what you're saying, but I'm just pointing out the law, which currently states that banks cannot charge penalties (ie charges which amount to a greater sum that the costs incurred by the bank).
