Hello there lostalot. Well done on taking those first steps. I too contacted CCCS last week and was given a ref. no. I also opened a Co-op account last night so should receive new account details early next week. I haven't spoken to any creditors yet as I'm frightened they will freeze all my current accounts immediately and I still need food and petrol before I get paid next weekend so I'm hanging on to see what happens with my Interview on Wednesday.
Good luck hun, we're in the same boat at the same time. I'll be thinking of you and checking your thread daily. Why not join the DMP Mutual supporters thread. That's where I've been posting any questions and the help received is a godsend.
Chin up chuck - we'll get there.

hi again. I filled in an online application for Natwest basic account this morning. they said it was accepted in principal but they would be sending forms out to be signed and filled in. Does anyone know what info they will need as i am a bit worried in case they ask about loans ccs and overdraft.0

Lostalot, what sort of basic account was it? Is it a step account cos they really don't need any information for that as you will not be able to get any credit with that account anyway.DFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0

hi I opened an account with HSBC in Jan on the advice of CCCS as my halifax account was the reason I was sorting a dmp out! I explained to the lady that opened my account why and they were understanding. I only have a service card (hole in the wall only) but they have said if I conduct my account well I can have an electron card after 6mths. I just was honest with them! If the banks says no all you can do is try another one! and lots of us with DMP's have found someone willing to have us lol!
It's hard starting the DMP etc off but def gets easier!! I set mine up over the internet (did the debt advice bit) then they just sent me all the stuff out and I filled it in! So if you can;t wait til your appointment you could try that?
Hope it gets easier for youTotal Debt March 2008 - £9232.19  Virgin loans £5188.80, Halifax OD £2,456.94, Barclaycard £699.60, Virgin Credit card £532.25, Capitalone £354.60 (no idea as they refuse to send me statements now! updating figures as I get them!) DMP support thread member no 1560
