You can open a Natwest Step account online. You won't need to show them any bank statements.

hi lostalot. I know its hard making that call to national debt line but honestly you will feel tons better after speaking to someone there, they are very very helpful. I have made my first dmp to CCS (Last Tuesday) We OH and me opened a co-op bank account just the basic with electron card can use this most places (supermarkets, on line, pay point, etc) so we haven't missed old debit card. employers wont find out if your on a DMP unless you tell them.(its not like a BR) national debt line ASK you if its ok to leave a message or mention it is them calling. and thy won't discuss with anyone else that answers your phonesaying that I only had 1 phone call from them when i answered they said could i speak with ........ (my first name) so if anyone did answerfor you it would sound like it was someone who knew you. you even give them a password that they ask to confirm before giving any details out.please for your own sanity phone them i can't it recommend enough.THEY ARE NOT THERE TO JUDGE YOU ONLY TO HELP.looking forward to reading your progressDMP Support thread member no.165 it will take a few years but i'm gonnabe debt free</p>0

Hi everyone. Just thought i would let you know i have gotten in touch with CCCs today. The earliest i can get a telephone appointment with them is next Thursday but its a start. I was told to phone Tesco cc and send a small payment explaining my situation and let them know about CCCS being involved. I will be trying to get a Co oP basic account this week too. Next week is a nightmare as i dont get paid til wednesday but my paymnet on LTSB cc is due tuesday. I f i dont pay they will take it out of my LTSB account anyway but it will make me go over my agreed overdraft limit. I will have enough wages going in Wednesday to cover it and also cover my secured loan with Swift on the Thursday but worry by going over OD limit they will cancel my OD and so will not pay out to Swift.
Its one step forward and three back at the moment0 -

Hi, I was just wondering if your ex pays enough towards the children? Nothing else extra to say except good luck on ThursdayDoing voluntary work overseas for as long as it takes .......
My DD might make the odd post for me0 -
To be honest my ex is great. he has never missed a maintenance payment ever. he also has another family now but still spends extra on our children, like clothes helps with school trips etc. I cant fault him for that.0

One question if anyone can help. Would my employers need to know if i go on a DMP and could i lose my job.
Will try and get to bed soon so will check in again later tomorrow when no one is around. night all take care
Hi,
Just wanted to say that I work in HR, in short, no, your company would not need to know that you have got a DMP. and no, you would not lose your job even if they did know.
Basically the only time your employer will know that you are in financial trouble is where you are issued with an Attachment of Earnings Order, these are dished out where an individual has been taken to court and been ordered by a judge to pay, this is usually (in my experience) parents who fail to pay maintenance. Then your company is contacted and the money is taken direct from your wages.
However, if any company were to attempt to dismiss you for this, then you would have a clear case of unfair dismissal! I hope this is one less worry!
I also wanted to say - good luck!

Hi again, just thought i would update you all. I phoned Tesco cc and explained i couldnt pay this months minimum payment and gave them the ref number from CCCs. The lady was really nice on the phone. She explained about a default letter i would get and not to worry too much about the wording as it does sound quite harsh. She suggested making token payments until CCCs sorts everything out and then my account would be closed and all charges and interest would be frozen.Felt loads better now i have finaaly made the first call. LLoyds credit card minimum payment due Tues but dont get paid til Wed. I will have to pay as i havent had time to open another bank account for wages but at least they said that they would note payment would be done on Wed so they wouldn't take it from my bank account making my OD go overdrawn. I didn't mention DMP or CCCs as i beleive it would be better to sort out new bank account ready for Wages, tax credits etc to go in and let Direct debits like gas insurances etc know new account number first. If LLoyds cancel my OD i would be behind with all DDs and cant afford to do that. As soon as its sorted hopefully mid next week i can let LLoyds know and then cancel all payments with them until DMP set up. I will amke token payments to them in the meantime. Off to work again tonight so will get some rest now. Thanks all for advice and support it really helps to know people are there for me. Bye for now0
