Hoping for a nsd here today. Failed yesterday as I spent £22.03 at Asda but saying that did get lots of meat - I normally buy meat at the butchers but they had packs of meat on offer - 3 packs for £10.

You could choose from medallion steaks, chicken breasts, bacon or lamb chops. I took 2 packs of steak and lamb chops so that's us sorted for the weekend. Have got some creme fraiche to use up so will make a pepper sauce for the steak and have some medittarean (sp) vegetables to use with the lamb chops. Yum !

On the downside, lost my mobile phone so will have to get a new one. Had only 6 weeks left of my contract so trying to decide whether to buy a replacement or just get a new contract.
So little money - so much time

Also bought a HUGE bag of sainsburys basics carrots with the online shop, can these be peeled, blanched (how long?) and frozen?

Mrs M told me to peel chop and blanch for two minutes before cooling and then freeze in portions. Cooked a batch the other day and it worked a treat.

    Morning all :D

I am having a NSD today :j ..hubby has gone golfing at silly o'clock this morning...and asked if i wanted to go shopping when he got back..his little face lit up when i said NO without hesitating... he now realises that the freezers really are to capacity..hence no shopping -as i have nowhere to put it :o

Have been in the garden allready this morning filling troughs n tubs and planting out some tomato plants... i know its a litle nippy but they are called "sub arctic" and don't need warmth :j I have some more in the spare bedroom that aren't quite ready...but won't be long :D ..im running out of room up there.... beans, peas, courgettes, squash, aubergines n allsorts have the run or the spare bedroom -for now...

Im planning a weekend of NSDs as hubby has golf competitions so im going to relax and do some gardening and x stiching and perhaps "concoct" some meals to try and use up some of the stuff we have... mind hubby is back to work on Monday -which means i will make some space by taking his soups out of my freezer :D
Lost another 2.5lbs this week....5st 11lbs down and 4st 7lbs to go :rotfl: this challenge really helps as it makes me think about how much money i would be eating as well as those cals ... and im not going without..just eating sensibly and have lost every week since i started back in August -even over xmas  . There is a lot to be said for this OS cooking :T ....and not having low fat this that and the other ;)
right i had better get off... keep up the great work everyone..
