I've not been out of the house since the last shop on Sunday. I live in the country and a round trip to the nearest town cost nearly £5 on the bus:eek: . Had a rummage through the freezer last night and found bits of bread, a bag of apples and several bags of plums. Today I made 8 apple and plum crumbles and 3 large bread puddings using mixed peel, cinnamon and nutmeg left over from Christmas:D . Have some sultanas left so might make some fruit scones tomorrow.January spend = £100

Aaargghh!!! i was doing so well, and then we go and have a lovely hot (well hot for the north east of england :rotfl:) day & the kids persuaded me to go to Farm Foods for some ice lollies & cornettos, so thats £5 off this week's budget!
Mind you i got some frozen fruit as well so i can defrost a bit at a time to have with my h.made yogurt.
so that'd better be it for this week apart from toilet rolls and some milk!!
hope everyone else has had a good day

I would like to join in again this month. I am a bit late getting started as our month begins on 25th but I have kept all receipts and will tally up soon.
We are planning on going to the Fish Quay at North Shields tomorrow and I wonderd if anyone over that way can tell me if it is possible to buy fresh fish cheaply there. I last went in late 80s!!business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

I have had a really good day today! Feeling very virtuous again!
DD and I WALKED to Lidl (approx a mile and a half each way!)bypassing more expensive shops on the way! Normally we'd get the bus so I saved £4.30 in bus fares, plus I only spent £3.02 in the shop! I picked up a load of things that I didn't need at all but before i got to the till I decided not to bother with them! They were a complete waste of money! That;s a big thing for me because normally I just buy crap for the sake of it!
So not only did I save money, I didn't waste any and I got some really good exercise in!! Yippee!:j
Love sunny days, always makes me feel better!!!

I was cooking a ham in the oven and in true ms style I shoved a few other things in including another batch of MrsM's bread sticks. I put some dried rosemary in instead of the caraways seeds and omg they are so nom nom nom,:p I think I need to put a padlock on the freezer :eek:0

Better late than never! Can I join too please. Put me down for £250
Trawling back through my reciepts I blew £450 last month but that was for 2 adults, 2 kids and for my DH and his friend for 2 weeks of their holiday this month. Confused yet?
This month will be 3 weeks of 1 adult, 2 kids and the final 2 weeks with 2 adults 2 kids. I'm not even vaguely going to think about what my DH will consume whilst hes unsupervised. Freezers are reaching the point where I can combine them into 1 to defrost the other before restocking although its mostly bread.
So far this month my supermarket spend is £40.71 but that does include some clothes on the basis that if I wasn't in the supermarket I wouldn't have bought them. Theres also 69p worth of wine (42 bottles) the remainder paid for with Tesco Clubcard double up vouchers.
I'm cheating slightly in that I have unlimited eggs but haven't included chicken feed as most weeks I make a profit from the eggs more than covering the feed. I also get some meat from the surplus cockerels.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
£27.46 for me this week - a bit more than I expected to spend, but as dh is away I have decided to spend a bit extra (i.e. what I usually spend on his food) on my healthy eating this week.0
