    Nettles-Interesting....
Stupid question-Are they safe to handle after they're picked?? What happens to their sting?

Weezl74-I'm following your GC with interest. You're incredibly organised.
Does it end at the beginning or end of June?

Wow Pink Princess-That's astonishing.. Any plans for your savings?

Hi SFT, we picked them with secateurs and gardening gloves, then I washed them with marigolds on! But after 5 minutes cooking time they stang neither fingers nor tongue!:D

My money is meant to last til end of june, wish me luck?!

Good luck but I don't think you'll need it... you strike me as a lady who can rise to a challenge.

  • Bails, I'm pretty sure it was Somerfield 'cos I thought I'd take a look when I go in to get OH's cheese - they often do half price Cathedral cheese.

    Hi Peeps

Can I declare for this month at £229.95 - a wonderful £45.05 under budget. I have everything I need so no more shopping for me before my month ends next Friday.

For May, I'm going to stick my neck out and go for £200 (4 weeks from 3rd - 30th May) - fingers crossed!

Well done to everyone who has managed their GC this month, and to those who haven't quite manged it - well I'm sure you've spend less than if you weren't on the Challenge - so that makes you winners too, doesn't it:beer:

Ooh, good news about the nettles Weezl, I was told that there was no point picking them now  Did you just pick the smaller top leaves? And could you post the nettle pesto please (Will check if you've already put it on your challenge). Thanks a lot, that's me out for a nettle walk tomorrow then :T Any other nettle experts out there, tried making nettle tea please?

Some seriously impressive cuts in food budgets being posted, well done everyone! :j
