I swear I read earlier that someone had posted about cheap tins of beans and I can't for the life of me now find the post! Can anyone help please, were they on offer in Asda?
EDIT: I just checked on mysupermarket (forgot about that :o) and can only see butter beans (and baked beans on offer) is that what the OP meant? Was thinking I might stock up on as many as possible but Asda is a real trek from here so didn't want a wasted journey. Thanks as ever for all the great tips peeps! :T

:hello: (creeps in quietly as not been very good at keeping up with posts lately)

Hope everyone's having a sunny Saturday.
Well, I am getting very short of grocery money and still have a birthday party to cater tomorrow. Need 2 cakes as one is for family and the 2nd for DD's friends on Tuesday - her actual 16th _party_ I have the ingredients to make these but she wants the Me to You cakes in Asda  How can I refuse :confused:

Think I may incorporate my pet budget with the family stuff next month. All the kittens will be off to their new homes over the next 3 weeks so won't need as much food and litter. Currently using a bag a day

I currently budget for £300 so I'm going to try for £280 in May.
Could you put £280 as my total for May MrsMc? and I'll be back with April final figure when I've been for cakes and bits tomorrow.

Congratulations to all those in budget and hugs to those who aren't (like me!)
    May's shiny budget awaits :A

    Hi All, :D

Sig lookin' even more scary, 2 quid a week til end of june  but have managed to do all our evening meals til then with what I've spent so far, having just done 5 portions aubergine curry, and 4 portions of pasta with nettle pesto.

Gonna use the rest of the nettles for a soup and a saag bhajee, they really are quite like spinach, and with the cumin and garlic, I reckon it'll be loverly!

Got 2 heaving bags ful of nettles on a walk with DH at the bluebell woods. I'd urge anyone who (like me til today) hasn't tried nettles to go for it- free food!!!:money:

Mrs Macawber, please can I carry my running total over into next month to keep me on the straight and narrow til june? Thank you.:A

Love to all and thanks for the inspiration and recipes,

    Weezl x

Stupid question-Are they safe to handle after they're picked?? What happens to their sting?

Weezl74-I'm following your GC with interest. You're incredibly organised.
Does it end at the beginning or end of June?

    hello MRSM and everyone!
I am preparing to join next months challenge from 1st May and have been saving all my receipts and putting them in my online spending diary, ATM I am just under £300:eek: that is for 3 adults in the week and 4 at weekends plus a few grocery bits for DS1 who lodges away from home in the week. I havent done this for ages and my last target was about 70quid a week. The way things have gone up I dont think I've done too badly but would like to shave a bit off this!.
    Do what you love :happyhear

Whoever it was who went to the farmers market- well done. Ours is horrendously expensive so we never go to it.
When I went into Lidl yesterday I was surprised because there wasn't really anything there that was of use to me. The eggs were over £1.30 for 6. The veggies were all quite expensive too. I think I may just stick to using them for the bread flour and get my other stuff from Mr T or whoopsied from Asda.
DH's cooking- Jamies carbonnarra mmmm yummy!
