  • I've just remembered that I forgot to tell about Tesco's Mediterranean Cous Cous Seasoning I bought a couple of weeks back.

Someone posted on the forum recommending it, sorry can't remember who :o . Anyway I used 100g of cous cous and 1 tbsp of the seasoning, cooked it in the same way as the Ainsley packet stuff and it's delish & very similar :D.

It works out as less than half what Ainsley's cost :D

Tesco also do it in other flavours; Mint & Chilli and Lemon & Herb.

    HTH someone :)

I am officially way over budget.

Been to Morrisons and Lidl last night. In Morrisons, I got some offers which will last us into May.

Yorkshire Tea bags 240 - 2f6.50 (still on offer)
Munch Bunch Yoghurt 2f1£ (offer finished yesterday)
Muller Snack Yoghurts bogof (still on offer)
W/Watchers yoghurt bogof (still on offer)
Also the rolls and pies were down to 39 and 49 pence for 6. So they are now in the freezer.

Anyone who likes Douwe Egberts Coffee, Morrisons have the 200g jars on bogof.

And a friend of mine works there and let me have her staff card, so another 10% off. In total I saved £16.29.

Made a bread last night. Tried with milk powder, but it seem to go quiet heavy inside. If I do a bread without milk or milk powder, it seem to be lighter and fluffier inside. Any ideas????

I've made too much spag bol in the past and frozen not only the sauce but also the pasta in the one tub. It turns out 'ok' after microwaving, though some bits can get a bit, err, crispy. I'm not overly fussy though, if you are you might find it inedible :rotfl:I'm sure someone with more sophisticated tastes will be along soon to give you a better answer. Frozen and reheated pasta won't do you any harm though :)

I,ve also done the pasta mixed with sauce in the freezer, turns out fine. Another no spend day for me yesterday plus I won a family pass to the science centre on the local radio, this is about £50,s worth. They were giving away £100 science centre pounds to spend in there, but dont know if this is still the case. That would be really nice. A friend is going to make me up some raised beds for my first try at me own veggies, another friend is putting a wall and some flooring in the loft so that I can store stuff up there. And a very nice young man in my work is coming up to turn over part of my garden, as I have tennis elbow and cant get it done myself. I,m a very lucky woman I think, I have to offset the price this would have cost to get done, by subbing beer and sandwiches. No contest me think.
Oh and I,ve also found a college that has it,s own wee salon, only operates on a friday, I,m going to get a full detoxing massage and scrub and a facial, all this for £24 !!!! Anyone wants me on a friday from now on they know where I,ll be.

I`ve frozen cooked pasta lots of times but always in a sauce, the first lot i did ended up in the bin cos i tried to reheat from frozen and the pasta just dosen`t like it:o
Trial and error found the best way was to thaw out first and reheat on a low setting in the mocrowave, stop the cooking a couple of times and give it a good stir and that will stop any bits getting overcooked.
Takes a couple of mins longer but it works well.
