Ended up with it all over the flipping place!! then it kept sticking to the rolling pin, and could i get it to go in a round shape?? could i heck!!
so we had very mis-shapen tortillas, stuffed with chicken and salad....tasted lovely, but where did i go wrong? any tips, anyone please??0 -

CHEWY SOFT FLOUR TORTILLA
2 CUPS PLAIN FLOUR about 240g
1 ½ TSP BAKING POWDER
1TSP SALT
2TSP VEG OIL
¾ CUP WARM MILK -180ml
I found when I made MrsM's Tortillas the first time they weren't wet at all and rolled out really well (I used the cup measurements), the second time I made them I used the grams/ml measurements and the dough was extemely wet so I ended up adding loads more flour. I think the problem may be that it is listed wrong?
I have a measuring jug that has cups on it so I just put 2 cups flour in it and weighed it and it was about 300g not the 240g listed on the recipe. MrsM can you check this please?

Just updated my sig with our spending over this week. We still seem to be doing OK. Done some planting in the garden today, so fingers crossed for a bumper crop! Think I have caught up with all the posts. Need to do some baking tomorrow as we are completely out of nice snacky food and we've still a week of the easter holidays left:cool:0

1 pint of water and 4-6 tbs of sugar (i like my sorbet alittle sour then usual so if you wanna add a little more go for it) put the water and sugar in a pan, heat up til the sugar melts, now add the peel and juice of 2 lemons heat til water bubbles and then simmer for 2-3 mins (depending on how lemony you want it).... then get rid if the peel and any pips and pop it in a container and put it in the freezer for 4 hours... then take out freezer and whisk until mushy... get 1 egg white and whisk til frothy (not to much) ... add to the lemon slush... whisk together and then pop it back in the freezer for another 4 hours and hey presto!! lemon sorbet ... yum yum yum xxxDebt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0 -

Hi Mrs M, I know you and hubby are doing a grand job of saving the pennies at the mo. You've probably already thought of this, but I've been reading about how the pound (sterling!) is very low against the euro at the moment, but set to rise.
Just a thought, would it make sense to change your cash for the next time you're coming to Blighty now, which might make everything you buy here 5% cheaper when you come? Along with all your other frugality;)
Anyhow ignore me if it doesn't fit for you, but I thought of you while watching the news t'other day!
