making my first batch of twinks hobnobs later on so i'll let you know how i get on
edit: forgot i had no bic soda, so went and got some from the local shop, 67p to add onNonny mouse and Proud!!

Oh, I have one of those here, too, and I'm afraid it doesn't stop once they leave school. Mine's 19 in a few weeks and now knows everything there is to know about driving, despite having already written off his first car since passing his test!!!! Fortunately, neither he nor his pal were injured and no other vehicles involved, just a fence, but he may now be psychologically scarred for life as a result of the motherly [STRIKE]yellings[/STRIKE] chats that have ensued. I have to admit, though, he has become a lot less fussy about his meals, which saves me a small fortune. I think, however, this may be a result of the 'just keep quiet, eat whatever it is she puts down and then clear out of the way before she starts again' gene kicking into gear. :rotfl:I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

Noooooooo-that's what the tap is for! Especially when on a grocery challenge! Tests have proven that tap water is better for you and usually tastes better. Who wants to pay a fortune for a plastic bottle and have plasticy tasting water? If you just "have to", refill the bottles with tap water and take them to work-better still, take a s/steel flask of water.
Angelatgraceland, I agree with you completely and normally wouldn't dream of buying bottled water! I've drunk tap water for 28 years and it hasn't done me any harm! I only bought two bottles this week because my flask had broken so i thought I'd just get one bottle and refill it but then the office cleaner chucked my bottle away!! Very cross because it cost me £1.60 for two small bottles  ! I can do an evening meal for myself and dd for that money!
I've hidden the bottle in my desk drawer so I won't need to buy any more next week!!Joined SW 24/02/2011 :j71lb/28.5lb-6, -2.5, -2, -1, -2 -, -2 sow, +3(holiday), -5.5 (*) +0.5, +1, -4, -0.5(*), -3(10%!!) +0.5, -3, -1, -1(2st:j)

I think I got up to page 46 before having a break! Over spent on holiday so added that to the GC budget along with the £62 spent today. Its going to be very tight in fact almost certainly an overspend. Will be happy if I can keep it to £270. Got to go to the 25th so 1 week shopping left next Sat to do and two weeks of top ups ( Mental note to send OH to stop impulse buys!)
PS Kitty thank you for PM, sorry I didnt reply kept worrying when I thought about it couldnt put it down to anything on the list except the worst. She (the cat) appears fine now and even fairly friendly considering we left her for 5 days!:j0 -

Hi everyone...just nipped down the farm shop for fruit and veg. Spent £7.34 but got everything we need to can now cancel the veg box delivery this week (would have been £10.40!) Hurrah! Am trying to be mega organised and do meal plan for May so I can do proper shopping list (determined to go to the supermarket only once a month!)
First loaf of wholemeal bread currently rising and nearly ready to go in the oven. Fingers crossed!
OH just suggested we try and make our own curry sauces to freeze so am going to check out that website that was suggested the other day!
