Hi I've been watching this thread for mis priced items for a while now but never seem to find anything locally. Can some one please advise, if the price on the shelf is cheaper than the price on the packaging ie Chicken portions, is it the shelf price that you should be charged? Can't they argue that the price on the actual meat/cheese per kg is the correct price? Or is it whichever is the cheapest?

By law they cannot advertise one price and charge another, if any of the point of sale material be it on shelf, packet, or even instore video display show differing prices the lowest price displayed MUST be charged or an offence is committed.

So if the shelf edge (as in the case of the Gammon joints) states £7.98 and the pack price states £8.48 if you are charged £8.48 you have been overcharged and under Tesco refund and replace policy eligible to keep the product AND have your money refunded.

If you read through all the threads you will see the multitude of items Tesco are currently OVERCHARGING the vast majority of their customers for, except of course mser's who are having a beanfeast at the moment feel free to join the party bring your own beans!

And don't of course forget to come back and post any new items you may discover yourself.

Thanks Ben500 for your help. I'll see what I can find, my freezer is looking empty at the moment so I could do with some bargains.

Your welcome, simply compare the price per kilogram on the shelf to the price per kilo on the pack for cheese and meat products and you will soon spot a misprice no worries there, Tesco mature cheese around 900g are a sure bet as are Gammon joints unsmoked and smoked 2kg £7.98 on shelf £8.48 on pack. Lots of stores have the bacon which is Harris 4 x 200g pack £3.78 shelf £4.42 pack(watch this one as some of the packs actually scan @ £3.78),rolled shoulder of pork £2.65 per kilo shelf £2.68 per kilo pack, there's also the Healthy Living chicken breasts £7.03 per kilo shelf £7.50 per kilo pack but these are thinning out a little now.

And don't forget to use some money off coupons as well that really p**ses them off!

£ voucher off a dvd on Nestle Fitness - on BOGOF at Tesco and Waitrose (£2.49), or £1.99 if you can find the one without fruit.

so they pay you £3.51 to take 2 boxes of cereal away
