And.... we've not only learnt not to go to the Chiltern Hundreds in Maidstone but also not to use JPR Electronics of Dunstable. This has been a very useful thread so far and am sure that it will continue to be so.

Sometimes the 'trolls' actually help bring more attention to something in which we can all be supportive. Maybe they are not as useless as we first thought...........

These blasted Pub management companies are not interested in people anyway - its the 'figures' that count - and how the pubs get it in is secondary. I speak from vague experience. :o

It is also worth noting that the people in the pubs get paid pitiless amounts and have to work all hours. But it is nearly always the ones on the lower wages that seem to care and give good service. The managers should learn from them and buck up their ideas. They are supposed to be giving a service for goodness sake!

    Rant over :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I like dining out but if I'm in Kent or Maidstone then I don't think I'll ever be eating in the Chiltern Hundred's.
Oh hang on, where did I say? Oh yes, the Chiltern Hundred's in Maidstone...

  • Oh wow! Staying in Maidstone this July! Searched the site for Maidstone and got this!

(bit out of breath) Well I had considered the Chiltern Hundreds, Maidstone but won't go there now. Sounds like an awful place. Do any of the local newspapers know about the Chiltern Hundreds, Maidstone?
Think they should be informed. beerchug.gif

  • Er, excuse me, but I was looking to join the JPR thread where I'll post my main reply. However I caught the "Dave Brooker's company JPR" bit as I came into the forums.

Is the poster implying that Dave Brooker works for/owns or is in some way associated with JPR in a professional capacity? If so then can we have the evidence posted here please. Evidence as in stuff that would stand up in a court of law, not gossip, heresay or plain vindictive near-flaming as occurs too often on this kind of board.

As for the post telling everyone you've all learned not to use JPR, I'll let you into a little secret. You're fools.

I've got a total of nearly 50 years experience in engineering/training etc (electrical/mechanical/computing/training/teaching) and in that time I've ordered goods both for personal use and for professional use from a very large no of suppliers including many of the big names and the experience with some of them, including problems re sorting out wrongly charged items, has been appalling.

I've used JPR on and off for the last 16 years and their service (speed, accuracy, prices and completeness of orders) has been a refreshing change in my experience.

Currently I teach a GCSE Electronics course in which my students have to design and build a chosen electronic project and we regularly use JPR as our main source of components. JPR stands out especially for their good pricing in stark contrast to so many outfits that see education as a milk cow and set their prices accordingly.

I wish JPR every success so that they may grow somewhat larger (not too big) so they may be able to carry more lines than they do now as I sometimes find myself having to order odd items from companies I know I've had problems with before and from whom I'm not surprised to find I often get problems again.

I've no connection with JPR other than as a satisfied customer and as a concerned individual appalled that a minor hiccup with a customer, has turned, via interpersonal sniping, innuendo, repetition, etc into mob tactics against a company that doesn't deserve it.

Oh and one final point: while this board may be a "vent" area it is not excused from the law of the land. So if there's anyone out there who'd like to accuse me of being in anyway associated with JPR, other than as stated above, thereby accusing me of lying, kindly have the courage of your convictions: supply your full name and address to the owner of MSE (and I will do the same) along with your chosen solicitor and we'll meet in court.

PS The footnote with the reference about Pastor Niemoller: the sentiments expressed are brilliant (though there are some who challenge the provenance of the quote) so maybe it is time to stop, think and reflect on the meaning of the content in that quote and ask ourselves is there not just a little bit of the "agitated mob" too easily stirred against lone others in too many postings on boards like this?
  • We tend to be suspicious of people who come on here and defend a company with their first and only post. Can you confirm who you are, and prove that you're not just Dave Brooker himself under yet another user name, or a mate of his who he's asked to defend him?
