Hello fridgehead just wanted to say sorry for your loss ,this hassle at the funeral tea is awful and incredibly disrespectful, It's the last thing you & your mother needed at what is a horrible time.
You said in your OP that you wrote to them to complain. Who to? other's know better than myself but would it be worth complaining to the managing director not sure the best way to contact them but this is the LINK to "Our People" on the Spirit group website who run Chiltern Hundreds in Maidstone. Perhaps they should know what happened.

There's no such thing as a stupid question, and even if you disagree courtesy helps.
This is the Vent Board. People can come here to vent when they feel they've been mistreated. People may disagree with the reason, but that is no reason for anyone to insult or be rude to them.

A thread like this shows places that they might try and rip off ordinary consumers who have paid plenty of money in good faith (apart from the fact that these people were GRIEVING after a funeral and should have been shown respect and compassion, not derision, insults and poor food!)
And now 1/4 of a million people know better than to go to Chiltern Hundreds of Maidstone. More power to the people I say.0 -

I agree with you.
You don't have to complain about a whole thread if you don't want. On the bottom left of every post is a red triangle with an exclamation mark in. If you click this, it will open up your email client (outlook express etc) addressed straight to the abuse team. It also brings the post in question to their attention. (a polite message for the reason of reporting helps).

And.... we've not only learnt not to go to the Chiltern Hundreds in Maidstone but also not to use JPR Electronics of Dunstable. This has been a very useful thread so far and am sure that it will continue to be so.
Sometimes the 'trolls' actually help bring more attention to something in which we can all be supportive. Maybe they are not as useless as we first thought...........
These blasted Pub management companies are not interested in people anyway - its the 'figures' that count - and how the pubs get it in is secondary. I speak from vague experience.
It is also worth noting that the people in the pubs get paid pitiless amounts and have to work all hours. But it is nearly always the ones on the lower wages that seem to care and give good service. The managers should learn from them and buck up their ideas. They are supposed to be giving a service for goodness sake!
