I'm sorry for going off on one, it's just something that really irritates me as I'm the first to point out offers to customers (after I've gotten mine of course;) lol) like I served a girl buying the new venus breeze razor, so I pointed out that she could get the razor and pack of blades for the cheaper than the blades on their own lol
I like SA's like you :T I used to be on first name terms with a couple of SA's in the Cambridge Retail Park Boots, simply through shopping thereThey were kind enough to do me favours like you've mentioned and I'd return the favour by pointing out glitches, reductions etc that they hadn't spotted. Neither of them work there anymore sadly

Popped into Watford today to get my sister a birthday present and it would have been rude not to pop into Boots. Even though I'm not spending much I give myself a £20 weekly limit I thought I'd see if any of the bargains were there.
No No7 nail kits.
Tried the Mediterranean soap free with a gift set but it didn't work so get the SA to void the transaction and bless her she said I could keep the soap anyway.
Did get a bargain on some photo frames and albums. I was after some frames for my nan - I wanted to put a picture of her and her great granddaughters in them to take to hospital (she's having an op on her knees). Anyway this is what I got:
8x6 leather frame £2.25
6x4 silver frame £2.25
BOGOF - £2.25 for 2
Cream scrap book £1.75 x2 but BOGOF so £1.75 for 2
Scrap book spare pages £0.60 x 2 but BOGOF so £0.60 for 2.
Total spend = £4.60
I gave 200 points from ACM
250 points from PC
Then not sure why got 8 points.
Total to pay = £4.60 Points = 458
Not bad.
With this transaction I also got the black MF box for free! :j:j:j
I also got for my sister's b-day present the Ted Baker Bag for £3.00 reduced from £18.00 (?). I tried getting another MF box with this but the SA spotted that I should have bought MF stuff with it. Never mind - some you win, some you loose.
Not a bad day and I still had money left over. :T'Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.'

Again no receipt...£30.00 to spend. I got the following:scorpiokitten wrote: »I proposed this scenario if you remember a few nights ago, saying you could technically exchange 3 med bags (bought for £4.50) for £45 worth of goodies - and you've only gone and done it! Lol. Well done :T:rotfl:
Sorry, I know I'm going to be shot down for this, but I don't consider its something well done at all. To get an offer through a glitch is one thing, but to take advantage of the offer then take the stuff back to be refunded on money you haven't spent, just to get the extra points is totally another. You'll probably be on here boasting soon about having taken those items back too and swapped those for something else, keeping the points you gained.
I am all for a bargain, and I often get extra ones for family and friends, or for others on here that have been unable to get them, there are several on here that can back me up when I say that, but I am not greedy. I do leave lots for others to take advantage. I believe that those that want them for themselves or for family etc should also be able to take advantage of the offers.
It seems to me, that it would soon become blatantly obvious to Boots, that there was something wrong with the offer, when people who have probably never bought a particular range, suddenly start buying expensive gift sets in large numbers.
The poster who was boasting about having taken soaps out of gift sets, to 'buy' to get the gift set, then took them back to another store for a refund and extra points, ought to remember that there are security cameras in the ceilings of stores, these are monitored by security staff and managers. The fact that you did that was technically stealing. Then having taken them back to another store, for a refund and used your Advantage card, come on here boasting about it, don't you think that someone from Head Office could be watching this thread and if they wanted to, could trace what you've done? You've even given dates and an inkling of the tills you used, ie bought from Wyvern (Pride Park), taken back to Victoria Centre, used tills upstairs, a shopping list of what you bought, then downstirs to refund the bags with another shopping list.
No, sorry Sk, that does not deserve a 'Well done', it shows great stupidity to me.
I am sorry if others are not going to agree, I fully expect you not to, but I am as much entitled to my opinion as you are and I do know that there are others who perhaps are not saying so, but do agree with me.
I have stopped coming on here so much as it does annoy me sometimes that people are so greedy about things.
So fire at me as much as you like.0 -
Hiya, I'm new to this, so I hope you guys can help me out ;o)
I have a voucher for 500 points whne you spend £10 on baby products.
I would like to buy some wipes, and they are on BOGOF. Will I get the points, even if I only part with £5 after the BOGOF has been deducted, or do I have to actually hand over £10, before I get the points ?
Hope this Q makes sence ;o)
Thanks ;o)
I have used these before but they do not work on all baby items that are BOGOF, if I remember rightly they worked on all boots own brand baby items and a few of the Johnsons. I spent £10ish and recieved £20 of products plus 500pts back. Sorry I,m not of more help, just ask the assistant to scan and try.0 -

here here dollardog. im with you. i dont post very often as you can see. ive been reading this thread since january and its helped me find many a bargain in the 75% sale and how to use the various vouchers to maximum benefit. i love reading what people have bought and am happy for them when they find a genuine bargain but like you have noticed a difference in the last week or so. i also see this like stealing and it makes me uncomfortable. if someone else wants to do it then fair play to them. we are all different in the way we think. i only hope that it doesnt affect the way the rest of us get our offers through the acm or magazine.0 -
So fire at me as much as you like.
You won't catch me firing at you Dollardog - I was tempted to say something very similar yesterday, but you've saved me a job. So thanks x
Any chance that the thread can return to some sort of normality soon? Or is it still a contest to see who can get as many gwp's, without purchases, as possible?Oh what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive. ~ Sir Walter Scott0 -

I have never judged what people do on here each to their own. Lately I read but don't post same reasons as yourself and I have found myself judging which I don't like. Haven't read todays post reading backwards as you do but what I read yesterday is pure gluttony on some peeps parts.
Spoke to my o/h about the current going ons has I don't agree with it but has he said people will spoil it for everyone else. Boots aren't daft.
Why couldn't people be happy with a couple of glitches ie current med one some people weren't lucky enough to get one. Brill if you were lucky to get em.
& I couldn't care if no one agrees me. This thread is losing alot of its regulars due to stuff like this.0 -
Someone mentioned that they used the ACM voucher and PC voucher to get 200 on botanics baby wipes. where did the PC voucher come from? I have loads of PC vouchers but none I can see that would work with this?
Used 500 points baby pc voucher with 3 for 2 nappies and bogof wipes today, spend totalled £11.52 after deductions, would not work before it reached £10 to pay so got wipes to bring it over £10.
thanks to all you fab bootsers love this site!!!

I agree with what you say Dollardog - taking advantage of glitches where you present everything at the till and pay what you're asked is quite legal but taking free goods back for a refund is a criminal offence (obtaining money by deception). I hope that anyone thinking about doing it realises that.
Anyway, Trafford Centre yesterday - they had the pink net bags with two nail polish in (Max Factor) on the main stand. Didn't see any No7 nail sets though.
Blackpool town centre today - MF stand had the black hexagonal boxes on the stand. Also, there were a few of the No7 "summer nails" sets in the cream zip-up bags. These were on the No7 stand (bottom shelf) and SEL said £2.50. They go through at 3 for 2. Only about four left on the shelf though.0
