  • Query for anyone who lives/works in county durham (maybe geordie_lass?) what do you think are the best boots shops in the area?

I was supposed to leave work early today but didn't get the chance (usual story, too much work, not enough staff) so I'm going to try to take my time owing either tomorrow or friday. Thought I might do a mammoth bootsing trip on the way home, as many shops as I can find! I work in Darlington so will start off by hitting the 2 boots stores in the town centre - never been in either, so need to try both!
I live in tyneside, normally drive home up the A1 but can make a detour to any co durham boots that are worthwhile, as there's a number of different ways I can go home. Was thinking about coming home via durham, but need boots on the outskirts cos I need to be able to drive to them - can't be bothered with park & ride! I know where the Arnison centre is in Pity Me, so probably that one, but apart from that am open to suggestions if anyone's got any?

    Thanks in advance!

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
Rubbish bootsing again today. Went back to the store where i had seen loads of hatboxes last week, and none to be seen:confused: so i guess i missed the boat. However i do have one last store to try but i'm keeping that under my hat (box, gedditt?) Didn't bother with the Toothbrushes today as lots of peeps saying it's no longer working, i have about 6 so i'm happy with that:p
Got some lovely sock packs in Alty
5 pairs of Brown down to £1.75 from £7
    3 pairs brown patterned £1.50 from £5ish
and SA said they're on 342 so i got a pair of black cat ones for free (£1 from £4). Didn't work this too well though as could have got more expensive ones for free.
JF serum with last haircare voucher

On another note sorry if off topic but it is bargain related, I got a gorgeous Julian McDonald dress in Debenhams for £20, :j not sure of original price but its fab for DD2 christening on Sun. They had loads of dresses with up to 70% off all designer. Had to get new underwear though :o as its Halter neck, that cost more than the dress. I told SA i would have to wear it on the outside of the dress to show it off:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Does anyone know anything about the Boots store at Beckton Triangle Retail Park (London) please? I'm thinking of heading that way one day soon for a mooch around!
Any info would be much appreciated
    TIA :D
Boots is next to the Next Clearance store & JJB clearance store in Beckton, (junction A13 and A406 north circular) follow the signs for Beckton Triangle or Savacentre. You could go in there and come out with nothing, it is always hard to say! Best times are about a week after 75% ends in stores as some of larger ones can not keep it all around for the 90%.

Mid to end of sept and late feb tend to be best times, plus about a week after any online stuff dissapears. Quite often have alot of old GWP for a few pounds.

Always worth a trip as you can go into other clearance stores there :)

Hi Nettuno, were the lip liners reduced? Were the the 342 signs still up? did they let you get GWP in the end? How come you paid for 4 lip liners if they were 342 ? Did you pay for your toothbrush then? Sorry to ask so many questions ! I usually have no probs with the SA's in that store...wonder who you got?

Did you get anything from Little Boots ? I think you said you were going the other day as they had quite a lot of reduced stuff when I went?
Went to Cheshire Oaks last night got another lip glaze with 2 x bronzing powder but noticed all signs were gone for 3 4 2?
    :A
lip liners were reduced to 50p each so i needed to buy 4 to take the total spend over a fiver with the lip glazes. lip glaze was £3.79 3 lip liners 342 =£1.00 plus another liner 50p =£5.29 when i handed my coupons over she looked at the glaze one and said you carnt have that you wont have the total spend. as there was a queue behind me i felt quite embarrassed. got charged £1.20 for the tooth brush not sure if she put the voucher through, she even queried the hairspray.didnt have much look in little boots yesterday but they were still reducing stuff:mad:

i thought the offer for no7 GWP was over too..but i read somewhere this morning that someone bought a 50p tan and goit the GWP with it....i was thinking trying it in my store. will go around closing time to avoid the no7 lady.

the SA today told me, the Pink no7 box IS NOT FOR SALE. well, i thought, then why are they up on the shelf?... it was too high for me to reach it ;)

I was there at the weekend, & TBH it wasn't that great. I guess it depends on the stock. we bought lots of vitamins, that were in big crates in the middle of the store at 20p each. other than that, no 7 sun stuff was cheaper (but not as cheap as the 6 for 1 stock I'm still working my way through :D ).

there was a lot of sanctuary stuff, mostly at £2 each.

3 small racks of kids clothes at 1/2 price.

I've seen buggies there before (eg. orange zapps at £75) but last week there were none.

however, the JD sports clearance shop next door was worth a visit, with women's trainers from £5. :T

Big one in Clayton Square has the most choice, and you could happily spend an hour in there! There is also a smaller one in Church Street opposite NEXT, which often gets forgotten about...have fun!
